    Assistant Corporation Counsel

    Rock County is looking for an Assistant Corporation Counsel.

     

    The office of the Rock County Corporation Counsel is seeking a dynamic, self-starting, creative legal mind to fill a position as an Assistant Corporation Counsel.  This specific Assistant Corporation Counsel's primary responsibilities include representing the interests of the public in proceedings under Chapter 51 (civil commitments), 54 (petitions for guardianship), & 55 (petitions for protective placement or services) of the Wisconsin Statutes; advising County leaders on legal matters pertinent to the operations of county government, especially concerning the Human Services Department's operations on matters concerning behavioral health and adult protective services; and provide support and assistance to the Child Support Agency as needed, particularly by covering overflow from the other child support attorneys. Requirements include experience in the professional practice of law, including litigation and/or municipal legal experience; graduation from an accredited school of law; and a license in good standing to practice in the State of Wisconsin.  The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the practice of law, with a specific focus or skills in litigation.  If interested, please submit a County application (application must be completed online at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/rock Assistant Corporation Counsel) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14 at:
