The Winnebago County Bar Association is an organization of attorneys who live or practice in Winnebago County Wisconsin. Winnebago County is located on the Western shore of Lake Winnebago, with its county seat located in Oshkosh.
The Winnebago County Bar Association has been in existence for over 100 years. The Winnebago County Bar Association meets monthly from September through May at Noon on the third Thursday of the month.
Right now, most of the meetings are held at noon via Zoom. We currently offer a full-day Guardian ad Litem training in October and a 3-hour ethics seminar in December. Our WCBA meeting is held at noon during or just before these seminars. The locations for these seminars change, so please email us at winn.co.b.assoc@gmail.com for more information.
During our monthly noon meetings between September and April, other than October and December, we generally have a presentation that will qualify for one hour of CLE credit. Other than dues, there is no specific charge for the CLE at the noon meetings.
The Winnebago County Bar Association and its members make efforts to give back to our communities. Our lawyers donate their time every month for the Free Legal Assistance Clinics that take place at the public libraries in Menasha, Neenah and Oshkosh on the first, second and third Tuesdays, respectively, each month. Our lawyers also help as judges for the State Bar's High School Mock Trial competition every year, help with Law Day activities at various schools. The WCBA also awards three scholarships annually to graduating seniors at Winnebago County high schools.
In addition to the meetings, the members of the WCBA also enjoy social events organized by local law firms to encourage camaraderie among colleagues and to promote courtesy and decorum within the Bar. Recently, the annual softball game against the Outagamie County Bar Association members was renewed.
At the WCBA, our aim is to maintain the high level of professionalism of lawyers in Winnebago County, as well as to bring our members together for professional and social interaction and education.
