State Bar 2015 Elections: Officer and Board of Governors' Candidates

The State Bar's membership will elect a president-elect, treasurer, and Judicial Council representative in April. The president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming president. The treasurer holds the position for two years, while the Judicial Council representative serves a three-year term.

Districts 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 will elect governors in 2015. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects seven; District 6 (Waukesha) elects one; District 9 (Dane) elects three; and all other districts elect one. The Board of Governors is the State Bar's policymaking body. Governors serve two-year terms.

To be considered for a seat on the board, members must submit a petition signed by 10 active members in their district to the State Bar by the first business day of March. Candidates will be announced on March 2.

Timing of Elections

Election ballots will be mailed no later than April 10, 2015, and must be returned by April 24, 2015. Persons elected will take office July 1, 2015.
