    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Two attorneys have joined DeWitt LLP as partners. Michael G. May, U.W. 1990, is with the Mequon office and focuses on trusts and estates. Phillip R. Maples, U.W. 1992, is with the Green Bay office and focuses on trusts and estates.

    Isabelle FaustIsabelle Faust, Marquette 2018 cum laude, has been promoted to partner at Amundsen Davis LLC, Milwaukee. Faust is with the Professional Liability Service Group and assists a wide variety of businesses and professionals with legal issues pre-suit through adjudication in construction, professional liability, transportation, commercial, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters.

    John HermanJohn Herman, U.W. 2016, has joined Hanaway Ross S.C., Green Bay, as an associate and focuses on criminal defense.

    Daniel J. Gawronski, U.W. 2013, and Brett R. Valentyn, U.W. 2016, have been promoted to equity partner with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

    Gawronski, a member of the Venture Best team in the Milwaukee office, advises early-stage and emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycle, including business plan review, corporate or limited liability company formation, stock options and other equity incentive plans, corporate governance, debt and equity financing strategies, corporate reorganizations and buyouts, and other general corporate matters.

    Valentyn, with the transactional practice in the Madison office, is experienced in mergers and acquisitions and a variety of other transactional matters, including advising small-cap to large-cap companies in transactions of all sizes, from private equity add-on acquisitions to multibillion-dollar public company mergers, across a diverse group of industries. He also uses his transactional skills and experience to support the firm’s Venture Best team, advising entrepreneurs, early-stage companies, and investors with their legal needs.

    Micheal HahnMicheal Hahn, U.W. 2014, an equity partner, is a trial lawyer and focuses on civil litigation, municipal law, and regulatory matters.

    Evan TenebrusoEvan Tenebruso, U.W. 2011, an equity partner, is a trial lawyer and focuses on personal-injury law, insurance coverage, and insurance bad-faith claims.

    Maddie McCueMaddie McCue, U.W. 2022, an income partner, focuses in estate planning, business and corporate law, and real estate law.

    Davis RundeEvan MayerDavis Runde, U.W. 2017, and Evan Mayer, St. Thomas 2020 magna cum laude, have been elected shareholders with Weld Riley S.C., Wausau. Runde practices in the school, municipal, and business and corporate sections. Mayer practices in the family, bankruptcy, civil litigation, and estate planning sections.

    Mergers, Relocations, New Firms

    Leah DerushaRaeann KramerLeah Derusha, Marquette 2015, and Raeann Kramer, Marquette 2018 cum laude, have formed Derusha & Kramer S.C., 1150 Springhurst Dr., Suite 118, Green Bay. Derusha and Kramer are family law attorneys committed to passionate and effective representation in northeast Wisconsin. Derusha handles a wide variety of cases including divorces, child custody and physical placement disputes, and paternity matters. Kramer focuses on family law matters, divorce and legal separation actions, paternity cases, and guardian ad litem cases.

    Lisa M. Krueger, Marquette 2003, has opened Krueger Mediation & Family Law Center, 48 Jewelers Park Dr., Suite 110, Neenah. The Center’s services, which are designed to empower parties during every step of family court cases, include mediation, arbitration, parenting coordination, pro se divorce, supervised visitation, and process service. The Center serves represented and unrepresented parties. Krueger previously was a Winnebago County family court commissioner.

    Michael S. Heffernan, U.W. 1977, authored the recently revised Appellate Practice and Procedure in Wisconsin (State Bar of Wis. 10th ed. 2025). He is retired from Foley & Lardner LLP and limits his practice to divorce mediation. The Hon. Thomas Hruz, Marquette 2002, Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Dist. III, and Nathan Petrashek, Marquette 2009, staff attorney for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Dist. II, contributed to the standards of appellate review outline.
