Kate Campbell is a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity and Technology & Digital Business practice groups. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Kate's practice focuses on advising clients in a wide array of matters related to cybersecurity, data privacy, technology strategy, licensing and procurement, and artificial intelligence. She also assists clients with due diligence in these areas for M&A transactions. Kate counsels clients on compliance with city, state, federal and international privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (EU) (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other state privacy laws in Virginia, Utah, Connecticut and Colorado. Kate assists her clients with establishing AI governance, including monitoring emerging AI laws in the United States and globally, data privacy programs, information security programs, information handling, incident response plans and subsidiary information technology and security standards and policies. Her work also includes data breach prevention and data breach response and remediation, with significant experience assisting law firms through security incidents. Kate also supports clients through litigation related to cybersecurity and data privacy. In the constantly evolving data privacy and AI space, Kate works with clients to create adaptive and practical internal programs and policies that allow clients to prepare for future changes in the law.
