The La Crosse County Bar Association’s free legal clinic is featured in a fall 2007 TV spot produced by the State Bar of Wisconsin. The State Bar produced a series of spots that aired statewide featuring ways lawyers are involved in community service work.
The La Crosse County Bar's Free Legal Clinic is open to the public the third Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, located at the corner of West Avenue and Main Street in La Crosse.
The clinic operates on a question-and-answer format where participants have about 15 minutes to ask questions of volunteer attorney. Topic areas include family law, financial problems, landlord/tenant, criminal/traffic, employment, and other matters. All questions are answered in the most confidential manner possible.
The clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys from the La Crosse County Bar Association. Members of the La Crosse Chapter of the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin also provide assistance.
Referrals to other agencies or resources may be made. The La Crosse County Free Legal Clinic helps people help themselves.
