Last year’s Race Judicata was a huge success. With more than 140 participants and $3,800 in firm sponsorships, PILF raised approximately $6,000.
Oct. 3, 2012 – The U.W. Law School Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) 23rd Annual Race Judicata, a 5K run/walk that offers summer grants to law students working in public interest fields, begins at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.
PILF is a student run organization committed to supporting law students who work in public interest law.
Register
The race will begin near the U.W. Medical School at Lot 60. Online registration is available until Oct. 11. Same-day registration also will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $15 per person for a team with five or more members and $20 for individuals.
Who Can Participate?
Participation in Race Judicata is open to the public. There will be t-shirts, food, and a raffle for all participants, and prizes for the top finishers.
The success of Race Judicata continues to be crucial as cuts continue to be made to funds supporting public interest work. Every dollar raised from Race Judicata helps fill this funding void for much needed legal services in our communities.
Scholarships Help Public Interest Organizations
A few examples of organizations where scholarship recipients have worked include: Midwest Environmental Advocates, Indian Law Resource Center, and ABC for Health. Scholarship recipients are able to take advantage of opportunities that they may have otherwise foregone, allowing them to fulfill PILF’s mission and solidify their commitment to public interest work.
