CLE seminars focus on skills for cross-examination, and adult GAL issues

Improve your cross-examination skills at the State Bar CLE Winning Your Case With Killer Cross-examination Techniques seminar on June 23 in Waukesha. Attorneys Roger Dodd and Larry Pozner - two of America's most popular CLE lecturers - present courtroom-tested techniques and strategies that transcend the type of litigation at issue. Whether your case is civil, criminal, divorce, or commercial law, these techniques work.

Learn how to phrase questions to block witness evasions, create fact-sensitive sequences of questions, psychologically dominate hostile witnesses, compel admissions on the key points of a cross, and use a hostile witness's own words to create a devastating cross-examination.

The live program will be presented on June 23 in Waukesha, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for Aug. 27 at statewide locations. This seminar has been approved for 6.5 CLE credits, does not qualify for EPR credits, and has been submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $229. Passbooks will not be accepted for this program. To register.

The Guardian ad Litem (GAL): Protection for Adults seminar on June 25 in Madison is specifically designed for new and experienced GALs who represent adults with dementia, mental illness, or developmental disabilities. Topics include an overview of the law on adult guardianships and protective placements, understanding how to interview individuals from different disability groups, and how to identify the "least restrictive environment" for a ward.

This seminar will enable GALs to deliver knowledgeable, competent, and informed service to the subject of a petition and to the court by providing current information and materials on the various disabilities, relevant law, and advocacy tips.

The live program will be presented on June 25 in Madison, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for July 20 at statewide locations. This seminar has been submitted for 7.5 CLE/Adult GAL credits and 1.0 EPR credit and has been submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $199. To register.
