CLE Seminars focus on life insurance issues and real estate and
environmental law updates
Attend the Webcast seminar, Ensuring Life Goes On - The
Advisor's Guide to Understanding and Managing Life Insurance,
on Sept. 16, 12:30 - 5 p.m. (CDT). This seminar, featuring a
multidisciplinary approach to breaking down the complexities of life
insurance, will provide a clear and practical understanding of life
insurance. Experienced panelists will present an overview of life
insurance products, give examples of case studies illustrating the
proper and improper uses of life insurance, explain how life insurance
companies are rated, and discuss the role of an independent life
insurance advisor.
The seminar is offered live in Madison during the Webcast
presentation (to register see box at right). To register for the Webcast
seminar, see article. The seminar has been submitted for 4.5 CLE
credits, will not be submitted for Minnesota credits, qualifies for up
to 5.0 CPA credits, and does not qualify for EPR credits. Tuition is
$169 for the live seminar and $189 for the Webcast.
The 16th Annual Environmental Law live update on
Sept. 29, 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m., in Milwaukee features representatives from
the Wisconsin Departments of Natural Resources and Justice, the
Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, and experienced environmental
law practitioners, who will share their perspectives in a comprehensive
treatment of the latest issues in environmental law. Topics include:
air, water, and solid waste regulatory updates; Wisconsin's newest
enforcement initiatives in environmental regulation; brownfields issues
related to real estate development; a case study of the Crandon Mines
project; and a timely discussion on the effects of Sarbanes-Oxley.
Special highlights include a report on the "State of Environmental Law"
from the Department of Natural Resources and "A Legal Perpsective on
Sewer Overflows" from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
The video seminar is scheduled for Oct. 29 at select locations. This
program has been submitted for up to 7.0 CLE credits, does not qualify
for EPR credits, and will be submitted for Minnesota credits. Tuition is
$199.
The 2004 Annual Real Estate live seminar on Oct. 7
and 8 in Madison and Milwaukee, respectively, 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.,
features experienced real estate lawyers who will provide an update on
significant real estate developments. The program focuses on helping
clients attain the American dream of home ownership. Topics include: the
pros and cons of financing with various types of lenders including
Internet lenders, mortgage brokers, and local lenders; terms that should
be included in a home construction contract; steps to take to ensure a
closing happens; how to be prepared for the increasing volume of
litigation over municipal land planning and regulation; trends to look
for with the new condominium law; and how to get a head start on
integrating new ethics rules into real estate practice.
The video seminar is scheduled for Nov. 9 at statewide locations.
This seminar has been submitted for up to 7.5 CLE credits, including 1.0
EPR credit, and will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is
$199.
