Supreme Court Increases PILSF Fee
The Wisconsin Supreme Court approved the petition to increase the annual lawyer fee for the Public Interest Legal Services Fund (PILSF) by $50 in two increments. The State Bar of Wisconsin shared with the court its members' views (largely in opposition) to the petition and argued that only the Wisconsin Legislature can properly fund civil legal aid. To that end, the State Bar plans to pursue further legislative funding.
