Dec. 17, 2015 – John E. Danner and Paul G. Swanson have accepted nominations to run for 2016 State Bar of Wisconsin president-elect. The president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming president.
Danner is with Harrold, Scrobell & Danner S.C., Minoqua, and Swanson is with Steinhilber, Swanson, Mares, Marone & McDermott, Oshkosh.
The nominees for secretary are Ann I. Brandau, Brandau & Waltz Law Offices LLP, La Crosse, and Mary Lynne Donohue of Sheboygan, who is retired from the active practice of law. The secretary serves a two-year term.
The candidates for Judicial Council are Sherry Coley, Davis & Kuelthau, S.C., Green Bay, and Charles Stertz, Outagamie County District Attorneys Office, Appleton. The Judicial Council representative serves three years.
The State Bar Nomination Committee was chaired by President-elect Fran Deisinger, Milwaukee. Other members include: Susan L. Collins, Madison; William T. Curran, Mauston; Benjamin J. Lane, Chippewa Falls; and Kevin J. Palmersheim, Middleton.

Represent Your District – Run for the State Bar Board of Governors
Leaders of all experience levels are welcome and needed – and when you get involved, you help shape the future of your Bar and your profession.
The State Bar’s Board of Governors is the policymaking body of the organization, and is represented by 52 board members (governors) in 16 districts who serve two-year terms.
Governors represent the district in which they work. In 2016, Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 16 will elect governors. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects five; District 6 (Waukesha) elects two; District 9 (Dane) elects four; and all other districts elect one.
To be considered for a seat on the Board of Governors, members must submit a petition to the State Bar by March 1, 2016, that is signed by 10 active members in their district.

Voting Set for April
State Bar election ballots will be mailed no later than April 8, 2016, and must be returned by April 22, 2016.
