Jan. 22, 2013 – Attorneys Robert Richard Gagan, Calewarts, Duffy, Gagan, Green Bay, and Charles E. Hanson, Hale, Skemp, Hanson, Skemp & Sleik, La Crosse, have accepted nominations to run for 2013 State Bar president-elect. The president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming president.
“I am pleased to be nominated to seek the post of State Bar President-elect. I have enjoyed representing Brown County on the Board of Governors and have further enjoyed serving on the Executive Committee for the State Bar,” said Gagan. “The economics of practicing law have changed dramatically in the past decade, and it would be my intent to be certain that the State Bar continues to evolve with these changing legal economics. I will be an advocate for all lawyers when confronting continuing budgetary issues. Together, we can assure that the State Bar’s integral position in our system of justice remains protected.”
Hanson said, “It is an honor to be nominated as a candidate for President-elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin. My practice has convinced me that the lawyers of this state put their clients first and work tirelessly to seek justice for them. As lawyers, we also have a proud heritage of service to others through volunteer activities in our respective communities. We need to improve our public image by communicating this positive message. With your support, I will use the office of State Bar President to promote the good work you do for your clients and communities.”
The candidates for treasurer are Kevin Lyons, Davis & Kuelthau S.C., and Theodore (TJ) Molinari, Birdsall Law Offices S.C., both of Milwaukee. The treasurer serves a two-year term.
