State Bar seeks member feedback on pro bono service

On Sept. 29, the State Bar solicited its membership, via email,
asking for their voluntary participation in the first annual online
survey on how Wisconsin lawyers are meeting their pro bono obligations
under Supreme Court Rule 20:6.1. Individual responses will be kept
confidential. Responses will be used to establish a baseline on the
aggregate pro bono contributions of Wisconsin lawyers, to improve State
Bar programs for volunteers, and to inform the Bar's presentation to the
supreme court as it considers the mandatory pro bono reporting
recommendations it received from its Ethics 2000 Commission. The court
has scheduled a Jan. 25, 2006 hearing date.
All Wisconsin lawyers who have an email address on file with the
State Bar received the Sept. 29 email invitation. Members who did not
receive the survey invitation and would like to participate can add
their email address to their State Bar file. To add an address, visit My State Bar or
contact customer service at (800) 728-7788 or (608) 257-3838. Once on
file, members can contact Jeff
Brown to receive the survey. Survey responses are due Oct.
15.
