    Midwest Regional Young Lawyers Division Conference comes to Milwaukee

    The State Bar of Wisconsin Young Lawyers Division and the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association are hosting the 2005 Midwest Regional Young Lawyers Division Conference, Sept. 15 - 17, in Milwaukee. The conference offers an opportunity to discover some of the most helpful practice advice, business tips, and professional guidance available to young lawyers.

    The 2005 Midwest Regional Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Conference, Sept. 15 - 17, in Milwaukee, offers an opportunity to discover some of the most helpful practice advice, business tips, and professional guidance available to young lawyers.

    The conference kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a reception at the Milwaukee Ale House featuring the popular Milwaukee-based Love Monkeys musical group from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. The conference continues on Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m., at the Wyndham Milwaukee Center Hotel, with presentations by Wisconsin lawyers who will offer their expertise on managing the media's impact on a case, tips on what to do and what not to do in the courtroom, and financial planning. Wisconsin Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General Daniel Bach is the keynote luncheon speaker. Bach will discuss his perspectives on the changed and changing practice of law and the options and challenges facing those in the legal profession. Friday winds down with a dinner/dance with live music.

    The program ends at noon on Saturday with sessions on persuasive writing, legal research, and affiliate presentations on public service projects.

    This year's program hosts are the State Bar of Wisconsin Young Lawyers Division and the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association. The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, Bultman Financial Services Inc., Thomson/West, Gramann Reporting Ltd., and Godfrey & Kahn S.C., are cosponsors.

    Tuition is $100 when registering by Sept. 9. After that date, tuition is $120. Register. The program will be submitted for CLE credits and up to 1 EPR credit. For more information about the conference, contact Jessica King at (920) 235-6690.
