Meet the 2002 State Bar election candidates

The following outlines the backgrounds of this year's candidates for
State Bar offices and division presidents-elect.
The State Bar president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming
president. The secretary holds the position for two years, while the
Judicial Council representative serves a three-year term. The
Nonresident Lawyers and Young Lawyers divisions presidents-elect serve a
one year term before becoming president.
It's not to late to run for governor. Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10,
12, 14, and 16 elect governors in 2002. District 2 elects six governors;
District 9, three; and all other districts one. To be considered for a
seat on the Board of Governors, Bar members must submit a petition
signed by 10 active member in their district by March 1. For more

Election ballots will be mailed during the week of April 8 and must
be returned by April 26. The Young Lawyers
Division (YLD) president-elect, directors, and other officers
are elected during the annual meeting, by nomination from the floor.
Those elected will take office July 1, 2002.
