    Michael E. Banks, Emory 1993, has been named partner in Haus, Resnick and Roman LLP. Banks continues to concentrate his practice in business, commercial, and intellectual property transactions, commercial and general litigation, and employment law.
    RobisonJohn S. Robison, Illinois 1978 magna cum laude, has joined Quarles & Brady LLP, Madison, as a partner. Robison practices in general business law, taxation, and health law, focusing on privately held businesses, with an emphasis on business transactions and taxation.

    Douglas S. Buck, U.W. 1993, has been promoted to partner in the Chicago office of Hopkins & Sutter. Buck practices in the firm's real estate section.

    Raymond W. Campbell, Notre Dame 1980 cum laude, has joined the intellectual property practice group at Cook & Franke S.C. as a shareholder. He previously was chief patent counsel of Beloit Corporation. Campbell is a registered patent attorney and will concentrate on patent prosecution and related intellectual property matters.

    James J. Casey Jr., Dayton 1988, has been named manager/director of research and sponsored programs at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He previously was employed at Northwestern University.

    Patrick J. Coffey, William Mitchell 1994, has become a shareholder of Menn, Nelson, Sharrat, Teetaert & Beisenstein Ltd., in its Appleton office. He concentrates in personal injury law and employment law litigation.

    Bill Nielsen, Thomas M. Cooley 1982, has joined AIM Technologies, Austin, Tex., as director of marketing. Nielsen most recently was in senior management with Kellogg Company.

    Bradley J. Dagen, Creighton 1983, has joined Hurtado S.C., Brookfield, as a partner. Dagen will concentrate in real estate, construction, litigation, and corporate law. He formerly was with Godfrey, Braun & Frazier.

    MorseJeffrey A. Morse, Marquette 1998, LL.M. taxation UMKC 1999, has joined Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger LLP, Washington, D.C., focusing on federal tax litigation, tax exempt organizations, and employee benefits law. Morse previously was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Milwaukee.

    Joanne Lipo Zovic, Marquette 1999, and Todd R. Meyer, Marquette 1998, have joined the Milwaukee office of Davis & Kuelthau S.C. as associates. Lisa L. Kritske has joined the Sheboygan office as an associate. Lipo Zovic and Meyer are members of the business and corporate law section. Lipo Zovic practices in estate planning and general corporate matters, and Meyer practices in mergers and acquisitions. He previously was a senior associate with Arthur Anderson LLP. Kritske is a member of the labor and employment section practicing in employment discrimination, personnel policies and procedures, employee discipline, and grievance arbitration and related litigation. She also provides representation on general school law and municipal law issues. Kritske previously was an associate at Rohde Dales LLP, Sheboygan.

    Todd Pfeil, Creighton 1992, has been promoted to vice president human resources & risk management/corporate counsel and secretary of Edward Kraemer & Sons Inc., Plain, a national heavy-highway contractor. He also has been promoted to vice president and secretary of EKS Holdings Inc. Kay Millonzi, U.W. 1999, has joined the company as associate counsel.

    Thomas J. Flanagan, Marquette 1992 with honors, has joined Vanden Heuvel & Dineen S.C.'s Germantown office as an associate attorney. Flanagan is an assistant adjunct professor of law at Marquette University Law School and a Waukesha County court commissioner. He has extensive trial experience in employment law, personal injury, lemon law violations, and criminal and civil litigation.

    Michael J. Hanrahan, U.W. 1992, and Kevin G. Wick, Marquette 1996, have been elected shareholders at Fox, O'Neill & Shannon S.C., Milwaukee. Hanrahan continues to practice primarily in civil litigation. Wick is practicing in corporate and business law, estate planning and probate, and computer and technology law.

    John D. Gatto, U.W. 1993, has joined the Schroeder Group S.C., Waukesha, as an associate. Gatto previously was director of the State of Wisconsin's European office in Germany, and had his own law practice. He has a Ph.D. in international business law. The Schroeder Group practices in business and commercial law.

    Eric S. Gissel, U.W. 1998, has joined Schober Schober & Mitchell S.C. with offices in New Berlin, Oconomowoc, Hartland, and Dousman as an associate. Gissel practices probate and elder law, real estate, and estate planning. He previously was a practitioner in Neenah.

    Samuel C. Wisotzkey, Michigan 1991, has joined von Briesen, Purtell & Roper S.C., Milwaukee, as a shareholder. Wisotzkey is a member of the banking, bankruptcy, and business litigation practice group concentrating in secured transactions, commercial lending, workouts, and commercial collections. Timothy W. Feeley, Marquette 1992, has been named a shareholder in the firm's health care practice group, focusing on business and health litigation at the municipal and appellate levels. He has co-authored chapters on scope of discovery and judicial supervision and enforcement in Wisconsin Discovery Law and Practice. Rebecca S. Hansen, Minnesota 1999 cum laude, and Eric N. Mathison, U.W. 1999, have joined the firm's banking, bankruptcy, and business litigation practice group as associates. Paul M. Selin , Marquette 1999, has joined the business practice group, focusing in corporate law, taxation, securities, and mergers and acquisitions.

    John P. Higgins, U.W. 1977, has joined Guttormsen, Hartley & Guttormsen LLP, Kenosha, as of counsel. Higgins will continue as government affairs director for the Kenosha Realtors Association Inc. and the Racine Board of Realtors Inc. He formerly was counsel with the Milwaukee trial office of Employers Insurance of Wausau.

    James C. Jones, Texas Tech 1989, has joined Remley & Sensenbrenner S.C., Neenah. Jones previously practiced in Texas in construction and personal injury litigation.

    John M. Swietlik Jr., Marquette 1984, has joined Kasdorf, Lewis & Swietlik S.C., Milwaukee, as a shareholder, concentrating in civil litigation and insurance coverage. Swietlik previously was with Cook & Franke S.C. Michael S. Murray, Marquette 1989, has been promoted to shareholder in the firm. He practices in civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury. Brian P. Beisenstein, Drake 1995, Juliette C. Luther, Loyola 1999, and Mellissa A. Shafer, Marquette 1999, have joined the firm as associates.

    Nicole A. Klemz, U.W. 1999, has joined von Briesen, Purtell & Roper S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate, focusing in health and hospital law, employment, and guardianships.

    Ronald S. Stadler, U.W. 1989, and John L. Barlament, Duke 1997, have joined Michael Best & Friedrich LLP's Milwaukee office in the employment relations practice group. As a partner, Stadler will focus on education-related employment law, with an emphasis on special education. Barlament has joined the firm as an associate, concentrating on employment relations law. He previously was an associate with Reinhart, Boerner, van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, Milwaukee.

    Jill M. Fahrlander, U.W. 1996, has joined the firm's Madison office as an associate focusing on intellectual property law with an emphasis in biotechnology. She is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

    Barry R. White, Michigan 1989, has been elected to partner with Weiss, Berzowski, Brady & Donahue LLP, Milwaukee. White joined the firm as an associate in 1992 and concentrates his practice in commercial litigation. Lynn A. Ludke, U.W. 1985, has joined the firm as an associate practicing in estate planning, tax and business law, trust administration, and probate. Ludke also is a CPA and has an M.A. in taxation.

    Martha J. Milanowski, U.W. 1998, has been hired by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in Watersmeet, Mich., as tribal attorney. She previously was an associate with Johnson & Houlihan S.C., Rhinelander.

    Joseph C. Mrazek, Georgetown 1997, has joined CCH Inc. as a legal writer in the company's business and finance group, at the corporate headquarters in Riverwoods, Ill. Mrazek previously served as an assistant state public defender in Racine.

    Robert M. Whitney, U.W. 1974, has joined Lawton & Cates S.C., Madison. Whitney will continue practicing in commercial, products liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice litigation. He previously was a partner at Foley & Lardner.

    W. Scott Nehs, U.W. 1991, has been appointed deputy general counsel of Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers Inc., Rolling Meadows, Ill. He also has become assistant general counsel of Whitman Corp., Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers' parent corporation. Nehs previously was associated with Wildman, arrold, Allen & Dixon, Chicago.

    James G. Rodgers, Chicago-Kent 1999, has joined the Milwaukee firm of Halling & Cayo S.C. as an associate, practicing in civil litigation.

    Daniel L. Zitzer, Marquette 1989, has joined the Milwaukee office of Otjen, Van Ert, Lieb & Weir S.C., as an associate concentrating in worker's compensation.

    The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has elected these officers: president - Thomas S. Sleik; president-elect - Linda Roberson; secretary - Thomas S. Brenner; treasurer - Patricia Ballman.

    Victor M. Arellano, Antioch 1984, has been elected to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Association of Trial Lawyers. Arellano is a shareholder of Lawton & Cates S.C., Madison, and practices in personal injury, medical malpractice, employment litigation, international business, and immigration.

    The Chippewa County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president - Rachel R. Anderson; and secretary/treasurer - David P. Czech; both of Chippewa Falls.

    The Douglas County Bar Association has elected these officers: president - Kyle H. Torvinen; president-elect - Theodore D. Salzer; and secretary/treasurer - David A. Kropid; all of Superior.

    Bradley C. Fulton, Marquette 1997, has been appointed by Gov. Thompson to serve as a management representative on the Wisconsin Labor-Management Council. His term runs through July 2004. Fulton is an associate at DeWitt Ross & Stevens, Madison.

    William F. Greenhalgh, UCLA 1978, has been appointed to the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys' board of governors. Greenhalgh has been a member of the Academy since 1998, and practices estate planning at Greenhalgh & Hoffman S.C., Baraboo.

    Heather L. MacDougall, Marquette 1994, has been named associate general counsel of LPA Inc., a public policy organization of the senior human resource executives of private sector employers. MacDougall is with McGuiness, Norris & Williams LLP, Washington, D.C. She practices in labor and employment law representing management.

    The Vernon County Bar Association has elected these officers: president - Amy A. Smith, Westby; vice president - Stacy A. Smith, Viroqua; and secretary/treasurer - Timothy J. Gaskell, Westby.

    KnutesonJohn W. Knuteson, Marquette 1975, passed the certified contract advisor examination given by the NFL Players Association, authorizing him to negotiate on behalf of NFL players. Knuteson, a CPA, is president and shareholder of Knuteson, Powers & Wheeler S.C., Racine.

    Marc Jay Bern, Chicago-Kent 1975, senior partner of Napoli, Kaiser & Bern LLP, New York, spoke at the national Mealeys Conference on Fen-phen in West Palm Beach, Fla. His firm represents victims nationwide in fen-phen litigation.

    Sylvan Sobel, U.W. 1983, has published a children's book called Presidential Elections and Other Cool Facts (Barron's 2000). His first book, How the U.S. Government Works (Barron's 1999), was featured on C-SPAN's Book TV program earlier this year. Sobel is director of communications for the Federal Judicial Center, Washington, D.C.

    Gregg E. Bridge, Marquette 1983, formerly a shareholder in and director of Petrie & Stocking S.C., Milwaukee, has formed Bridge Law Office, 10400 W. North Ave., Suite 470, Wauwatosa. Bridge will continue to focus on personal injury, family law, and general civil matters and litigation.

    James T. Parent, Hamline 1989, formerly of Wagner & Todryk S.C., and R. Jeffrey Burgfechtel, Dayton 1994, formerly of Burgfechtel Law Offices, have formed the Law Offices of Burgfechtel & Parent, 2521 S. Broad-way, Menomonie. The firm focuses on civil litigation concentrating in personal injury, family, and general business law.

    Ralph J. Ehlinger, Georgetown 1968, has moved his office from downtown Milwaukee to Stonewood Corporate Center, W175 N1117 Stonewood Dr. #211, Germantown. His practice includes corporate transactions, civil trials and appeals, and health care law. he previously practiced with R. Jeffrey Krill as Ehlinger & Krill S.C.

    Godfrey & Kahn S.C. has consolidated its Appleton and Oshkosh offices. The firm will continue to operate out of its Appleton office at 100 W. Lawrence Ave. The Oshkosh office is closed.

    Lynn R. Laufenberg, Marquette 1975, has formed Laufenberg Law Offices S.C. at 250 N. Sunnyslope Rd., Suite 300, Brookfield. He will continue representing clients injured as the result of medical negligence, product defect, and other negligence. He formerly
    was a shareholder with Cannon & Dunphy S.C.

    Benjamin G. Porter, U.W. 1966, Laurie D. Kohli, and David A. LeMaster have formed Porter, Kohli & LeMaster P.S., Seattle, Wash. The firm will emphasize commercial litigation, business transactions, and tax planning.
