Susan E. Krueger, Hamline 1995 cum laude, and Michael P. Obert Jr, U.W. 1996 cum laude, have joined Corneille
Law Group LLC, Madison. Krueger also is licensed to practice
in Minnesota. Both will practice in civil litigation in medical
negligence, product liability, civil rights, employment discrimination,
environmental law, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation,
and litigation involving governmental entities. |
Rodney W. Dequaine, Hamline 1991, has been named director/assistant
corporation counsel for the Door County Child Support Agency.
He was previously a staff attorney for the Brown County Child
Support Agency.
Mary E. Eberle, Marquette 1999, has joined DeWitt Ross
& Stevens S.C., Madison, as an associate attorney. She is
a registered patent attorney and will practice in intellectual
property, trademark, and copyright law.
Scott K. Petersen, Pepperdine 1993, also has joined
the firm as an associate attorney. He will practice in litigation,
civil, criminal, and administrative matters, and municipal representation.
Richard T. Elrod, Marquette 1994, has been elected
shareholder in Herrling, Clark, Hartzheim & Siddall Ltd.
He practices in personal injury, litigation, worker's compensation,
family law, and labor law.
Christopher C. Cain, William Mitchell 1996, and Andrew
L. Nelson, U.W. 1993 cum laude, have joined the Madison office
of Foley & Lardner as associates. Cain, a CPA, joins the
firm's business law department, focusing on e-commerce,
licensing, contract negotiation and drafting, mergers and acquisitions,
and general business counseling. Nelson, also a CPA, joins the
tax and individual planning department, practicing in taxation,
estate planning, and general business counseling. Megan J.
Ballard, U.W. 1994 cum laude, LL.M. U.W. 1999, has joined
the firm as special counsel in the estates and trusts practice
group. Previously, Ballard was with Perkins Coie, Seattle. Sandy
M. Ballou, Michigan 1996 with honors, transfers from the
firm's Milwaukee office, and is a member of the health law
department. Previously, she served on the Greater Milwaukee Medical
Ethics Committee. Lori A. Ringhand, U.W. 1997 magna cum
laude, is an associate in the firm's energy and telecommunications
practice group.
Kenneth J. Hansen,
Harvard 1987, has been promoted
to partner in the Madison office of Quarles & Brady LLP.
Hansen practices in general corporate and securities law and
mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on software and other
high technology companies. Previously, he served as general counsel
for a software development company. |
Jason R. Handal, Marquette 1995, has joined Willms
Anderson S.C., Thiensville, continuing in estate and business
succession planning and corporate law. Previously Handal was
with Cook & Franke S.C., Milwaukee.
Richard L. Hillman, Marquette 1987, has joined Foster,
Swift, Collins & Smith, Lansing and Farmington Hills, Mich.,
in the government and commerce department. Previously, Hillman
was a shareholder with McGinty, Jakubiak, Frankland & Hitch
P.C., East Lansing, Mich. Hillman is admitted to practice in
Michigan and Wisconsin.
Brian K. Holmgren, Vanderbilt 1985, has joined the
Nashville, Tenn., district attorney's office as an assistant
district attorney in the criminal trial division. Previously,
Holmgren was with the American Prosecutor's Research Institute's
National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse, where he trained
clients on child abuse issues, and assistant district attorney
in Kenosha.
Jean J. Brown, Marquette 1989 cum laude, has joined
Jastroch & LaBarge S.C., Waukesha, continuing in plaintiff's
personal injury litigation. She formerly was associated with
Hausmann-McNally S.C., Milwaukee. Jeffrey T. Clutts, Marquette
1988, also has joined the firm as an associate in the personal
injury and worker's compensation department. Previously,
Clutts was associated with Daniel P. Kondos S.C., Milwaukee.
Angela Jaenke, U.W. 1998, and Aaron C. Tharpe,
Marquette 1999, have joined the National Labor Relations Board,
Region 30-Milwaukee, as field attorneys.
Stephen Lesavich,
U.W. 1995, has been elected partner in McDonnell
Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff, Chicago. Lesavich has a Ph.D.
in computer science and is a member of the Illinois, Oregon,
and Wisconsin bars. He is registered to practice before the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office. Lesavich practices in intellectual
property issues related to computer software and the Internet,
including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. |
James D. Peterson, U.W. 1998, has joined LaFollette
Sinykin LLP, Madison, as an associate focusing on intellectual
property and litigation. Previously, Peterson served on the University
of Notre Dame faculty.
Rochelle H. Klaskin, Chicago-Kent 1998, has joined
the firm as an associate practicing in corporate, securities,
and employment law. Previously Klaskin worked in private practice
in Chicago.
Alexandra B. Klass, U.W. 1992, has become a partner
in Dorsey & Whitney LLP, Minneapolis, Minn. Klass practices

Andrew R. Liverman, Valparaiso 1992 cum laude, has

John MacMaster, U.W. 1975 with honors, has joined Kilpatrick
Stockton LLP, Atlanta, as a partner in tax practice.
Patricia J. (Meunier) Lloyd, Marquette 1992, has been
appointed managing editor of Quinlan Publishing Inc., Boston,
Mass., a nationwide publisher of legal resource books, monthly
legal bulletins, and electronic publications. She previously
was with Kotin, Crabtree & Strong LLP, Boston, and Shneidman
& Myers, Milwaukee.
Matthew S. Mayer,

& Bremer LLSC, Wausau, as an associate. He will serve as
a trial lawyer focusing on personal injury including products
liability and medical negligence. Mayer previously was affiliated

Lawrence Phillips, Drake 1960, has become head tax
administrator for the territory of Kosovo. Phillips previously
was director of the Internal Revenue Service of Wisconsin.
Matthew J. Richburg, Thomas M. Cooley 1996, has joined
Kohn Law Firm S.C., Milwaukee, concentrating in debt collection
and litigation including retail, commercial, municipal, and landlord/tenant
matters. Previously, he was corporate counsel for Madison Property
Management Inc.
Gilbert L. Southwell III, U.W. 1981, has joined the
Milwaukee office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP as a partner.
Southwell has more than 15 years experience in commercial law
with an emphasis on secured lending. Previously, he was assistant
general counsel for Firstar Corporation.
Eric Skonnord, Marquette 1996, has joined Rider, Bennet,
Egan & Arundel LLP in the trusts and estates department.
He focuses in estate planning, estate, gift and income taxation,
probate and trust administration, and guardianship/conservatorship
law.
Jennifer M. Jacobsen,
U.W. 1992, has been made a shareholder
in Weintraub Genshlea & Sproul, Sacramento, Calif., practicing
in real estate law with an emphasis on community associations
and common interest developments. Jacobsen joined the firm in
1995 after serving as a fellow and staff attorney with Pacific
Legal Foundation, a national nonprofit public interest law firm
in Sacramento. |
Gay Ann Spahn, U.W. 1988, has joined Wilhelm Law Service
S.C., Appleton, as an associate. Previously, Spahn worked as
a patent attorney for Armstrong, Westerman, Hattori, McLeland
& Naughton, Washington, D.C., and PPG Industries, Pittsburgh,
Penn; and as a patent examiner for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Spahn practices in intellectual property law.
Joseph E. Tierney IV, U.W. 1995, has joined the Milwaukee
office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, practicing in real
estate law and tax planning matters.
David L. Weigman, Western New England College 1993,
was recently named associate general counsel of Carlson Real
Estate Company, a commercial real estate development and management
company based in Minneapolis, Minn.
Stephen C. Werner Jr., U.W. 1997 cum laude, has joined
the Milwaukee office of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. as an associate,
concentrating in intellectual property with a focus on trademark
and copyright law. He also is experienced in computer software,
licensing, unfair competition, and cyberspace matters.
Carrie Raymond Bedore, Minnesota 1985, has been appointed
volunteer, part-time executive director of the Mequon-Thiensville
Education Foundation Inc. The foundation was established in 1998
to provide funding for additional educational opportunities and
programs for area students. Bedore is a shareholder in Reinhart,
Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach S.C.
Michael B. Brennan, Northwestern 1989, has been appointed
to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court by Gov. Tommy Thompson.
Brennan replaces Judge Ronald Brooks.
Robert O. Burr, Marquette 1996, has been elected chair
of the Criminal Law Committee of the Charlotte County, Fla.,
Bar Association.
Frederick W. Fischer, U.W. 1963, Eau Claire city attorney,
has been reappointed a regional vice president of the Seventh
Circuit, for the International Municipal Lawyers Association,
Washington, D.C.
Eunice Gibson, U.W. 1973, Madison city attorney, has
been reappointed as state chair and also serves as chair of IMLA's
personnel section.
Warren P. Kraft, Oshkosh city attorney, has been appointed
vice-chair for the association's land development, planning,
and zoning section.
Robert W. Kohn, U.W. 1959, senior partner in the Kohn
Law Firm S.C., Milwaukee, was reelected to a two-year term as
a vice president on the board of directors for the National Association
of Retail Collection Attorneys. Kohn practices in commercial,
retail, medical, and municipal debt collection and litigation.
Frank T. Pasternak,
John Marshall 1994, has been appointed
chair of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers (WATL) New Lawyers
Section. As section chair, he will serve on WATL's board
of directors and legislative committee. Pasternak is a sustaining
member of WATL and a plaintiff's personal injury lawyer
with Murphy, Gillick, Wicht & Prachthauser S.C., Milwaukee. |
Dennis R. McBride, New York University 1980, has been
elected to the board of directors of the Wauwatosa Historical
Society. He also was reappointed as a member of the Wauwatosa
Civil Service Commission, of which he is a past chair. McBride
is a senior trial attorney in the Milwaukee district office of
the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Robert A. Mich Jr., U.W. 1996, has been appointed legal
counsel for the Wisconsin Jaycees. Mich remains an associate
with Kay & Andersen S.C., practicing in general civil litigation.
Randy S. Nelson, Marquette 1977, a partner with the
Milwaukee office of Weiss, Berzowski, Brady & Donahue LLP,
was reappointed to the business planning committee of the American
College of Trust and Estate Counsel for 2000. Nelson practices
in estate planning, family business planning, tax planning, trust
administration, and probate.
The Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers recently elected the

Linda Nowakowski Winter, Marquette 1982, has been appointed
to chair the attorneys' committee for the International
Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Brookfield. Winter also
is serving a three-year term as regional director of the Marquette
University Alumni Association National Board of Directors. She
practices in employee benefits with Yonke, Arnold, Newbold, Winter
& Jacoby P.C., Kansas City, Mo.
