Douglas Bauman, U.W. 1998, has joined the firm of Piehler
& Strande, Wausau, as an associate. He was formerly a judicial
staff attorney in Dane County.
Steven M. Cain, Marquette 1999, has joined Houseman & Feind LLP, Grafton,
as an associate. He will concentrate in municipal law, real estate, personal
injury, and general business law and litigation.
James J. Casey Jr., Dayton 1988, has been promoted
to team leader in the office of Research and Sponsored Programs
at Northwestern University.

Lori A. Eidemanis, U.W. 1984, has joined the Pima County
attorney's office in Tucson, Ariz., as a deputy county attorney
in the violent crimes unit. Eidemanis formerly was an ADA in
Outagamie County.
Kathryn A. Finerty, Marquette 1992, has been promoted
to senior division and compliance counsel with Universal Foods
Corp. She will administer the company's code of conduct
and serve as counsel for the Red Star Yeast and Dehydrated Products
divisions.
Joseph E. Gumina, William Mitchell 1990, has become
a shareholder in Wessels & Pautsch P.C., St. Charles, Ill.
He defends private and public employers in employment discrimination
litigation, unfair labor practice charges, OSHA citations, labor
arbitration matters, and wage and hour claims.
Paul M. Hattenhauer, Minnesota 1991, has become a partner
of Culp Elliott & Carpenter PLLC, Charlotte, N.C.
Roberta A. Heckes, Marquette 1999, joined the Ritger
Law Office, Random Lake, as an associate in general practice
law. She recently was appointed vice chair of the commercial
transportation committee in the ABA's Tort and Insurance
Practice Section.
Carla J. Hughey, U.W. 1999, has joined Davis, Birnbaum,
Marcou, Seymour & Colgan LLP, La Crosse, as an associate
in general practice concentrating in employment and labor law,
civil law, and criminal trial work.
Tara K. Kleinhans, U.W. 1998, has joined the Wisconsin
Association of School Boards, Madison, as a member of WASB's
staff counsel, providing legal assistance to Wisconsin's
public school employers in collective bargaining and labor relations.

Michael G. Grzeca, Marquette 1974, was appointed Brown
County circuit court judge for Branch II by Gov. Thompson. He
has closed his law practice of 25 years.
John Hawley, U.W. 1982 cum laude, has become president
of the Board of Control of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic
Association, the governing organization for high school athletics.
