    Hot Tech Gifts for 2024

It's that time of year again … the time when you might treat yourself (or others) to new high-tech gadgets. Retirement hasn't slowed me down, in fact, I have even more time to play. Here are a few of my favorite things I acquired this year that might make great holiday gifts.

    Culinary Gifts for Foodies

Ninja SP101 Digital Air Fry Countertop Oven: This air fryer and toaster oven has 8-in-1 functionality and folds up to reduce counter space. It offers a large surface area to air fry many things at once. Price: $150.

Fresh Roast SR800 Coffee Bean Roaster: Imagine the cup of coffee you had after a wonderful meal at a fancy restaurant. You can have coffee like that at home with an air roaster. Simply place green coffee beans in the glass chamber, turn on the heat, and wait about 10 minutes to roast one-half pound of coffee. I recommend waiting a couple of days for the beans to rest after roasting. I’ve also found it’s best to grind the beans just before brewing. You can control the level of roast to suit your taste. You’ll never have to worry about your favorite coffee being discontinued if you find a reliable bean supplier. Price: $300.

The 1Zpresso Q Manual Coffee Grinder allows you to grind coffee beans immediately before brewing for the freshest tasting coffee. Price: $110.

I obviously have a passion for coffee. In my opinion, the AeroPress is the best way to brew fresh coffee for one or two people. You control the strength to your taste, and it is easy to clean. Throw away your Keurig, please. Much better tasting coffee is easy and inexpensive. Price: $40.

Victorinox 10.25 Inch Bread Knife: The high-carbon stainless-steel serrated blade is great for efficient slicing and offers an ergonomic Fibrox Pro handle. I especially like the curve that helps get through things completely. Price: $55.

    Gifts for Home and Office

Brady M210 Portable Label Printer: This is my favorite label printer of all time. It has a very large selection of labels, including heat shrink for wire labels. The labels stick on almost anything and are easy to remove when needed. Price: $100.

He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Law Office Management Assistance Program (LOMAP) Advisory Committee, which assists in implementing and developing the Law Office Management Assistance Program (Practice411).

Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor: This device makes it easy to understand what’s in your indoor air. As the name suggests, it integrates with Alexa via WiFi. Indoor air often is more polluted than outdoor air. Use this around your house to identify problem areas, and either remove pollution-causing substances or add additional air filtration. Price: $70.

Hollyland Lark M1 Wireless Lavalier Microphone with Noise Cancellation: This compact wireless lapel microphone system offers 656-foot transmission and eight-hour battery life for DSLR cameras, iPhone, Android, and live streaming. For these capabilities, the system is a good value. Price: $80.

Having trouble with your laptop overheating? The KLIM Pro Laptop Cooling Pad can keep your laptop very cool with very little noise. It plugs into USB, so no external power supply is needed. Price: $15.

The MINISFORUM UN1290 is an i9-12900 processor with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It is blazing fast, has a very small footprint, can support up to three monitors and 2.5GB Ethernet, is very quiet, and takes very little desk space. Price: $540.

The onn Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Device has 4K UHD resolution, Dolby Vision and Dolby ATMOS, hands-free voice control, and a smart hub. This device does it all for television streaming. A bonus is that the voice search can work across all streaming services combined. Price: $50.

The DJI Osmo Action 3 is a 4K-action camera with front and back touch screens, a long-lasting battery, and a super-wide field of view. It has a magnetic mounting system that makes it easy to move from mount to mount. It also features a waterproof design up to 16 meters deep. Price: $200.

NUX C-5RC 5.8GHz Wireless Guitar System: This wireless transmitter and receiver is for electric guitars – no more tripping on cords to play your favorite instrument. Price: $160.

DWARF II Smart Telescope with Solar Filter. This device is a perfect gift for the budding astrophotographer. It is compact, has a rechargeable battery, and connects wirelessly to a smartphone. It can capture the sun (with the included filter), moon, and galaxies far, far away. I never knew there was so much stuff in the sky! Price: $400.
