    Betsy Abramson, U.W. 1981, is the 2007 recipient of the Marygold Shire Melli Achievement Award, presented by the Legal Association for Women to a woman who advances the interests of women lawyers and promotes improvements in the administration of justice, equality, and social justice for all people. Abramson is being honored for her work in protecting the rights of older persons. She is cofounder and former director of the Elder Law Center at the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups and has been involved in many other professional activities in aid of the elderly.
