Feb. 19, 2014 – The State Bar Young Lawyers Division is committed to providing leadership training and networking opportunities for young lawyers. The division will hold the Fifth Annual Young Lawyers Leadership Conference, on Friday, March 21, in Green Bay. This event is free for YLD members.
"This year's conference will be action-packed with more networking opportunities than years past, dynamic speakers from across the state, and in various practices, our annual meeting, and fun," said Conference Chair Crystal Banse. " Please come join us and your fellow young lawyer comrades for an educational and entertaining event."
Join us for lunch at noon. Immediately following lunch, the Hon. William C. Griesbach, chief judge, U.S. District Judge, Eastern District of Wisconsin, is the keynote speaker followed by welcoming remarks from State Bar President Patrick J. Fiedler and President-elect Robert R. Gagan.

Becoming a Leader Through Character: A Divine Perspective, presented by Robyn Blader, Blader Law Office LLC, Wautoma, colonel, staff judge advocate, Wisconsin Army National Guard
Ten Risk Management Tips for Young Lawyers, a discussion lead by Timothy J. Pierce, State Bar ethics counsel, and Thomas J. Watson, Wisconsin Mutual Insurance Company
Making Leadership Your Brand, a panel discussion with former State Bar President George Burnett, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry S.C., Green Bay; Byron B. Conway, Habush Habush & Rottier S.C., Green Bay; Josh King, vice president for business development and general counsel, Avvo, Seattle; and Christina Plum, Wisconsin Court of Appeals District I, Milwaukee. Brandon J. Evans, YLD board member, will moderate the discussion
Wind down the day at a Networking Reception and Team Trivia, from 5 to 7 p.m., sponsored by Wisconsin Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company.
Tuition and Credit
The program will be submitted to the Board of Bar Examiners for CLE and EPR credits. This event is free for YLD members. Membership in the Young Lawyers Division is automatic for attorneys who are either under 36 years old or in their first five years of practice following admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin.
A limited number of rooms are available at the Tundra Lodge at a discounted rate of $129, the special rate expires on March 6.
