March 19, 2014 – The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association (EDWBA) will hold its 12th Annual Meeting and Presentation on Thursday, April 10, at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, from 7:45 am. to 1:30 p.m. The meeting will offer updates and programming useful to everyone whose practice or interests touch on what happens in the federal courts. This year’s programming follows a general theme: changes to the practice of law. Programs will discuss not only changes to substantive law, but also challenges presented by advancing technology, new methods of delivering legal services, and evolving ethical obligations (3 CLE credits have been applied for).

- Track One (Bankruptcy) – A Look Into the Stern Abyss: Making Sense of the Circuit Split on the Eve of the Supreme Court’s Decision in Bellingham
- Track Two (Civil) – Ethics in the Modern Era
- Track Three (Criminal) – Recent Changes in Federal Narcotics Prosecutions: The Second Holder Memorandum and the Proposed Smarter Sentencing Act
In addition to a morning of exceptional programming, the luncheon features keynote speaker Judge James A. Wynn, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Judge Wynn’s remarks will focus on the future of legal education. Following his remarks, the annual awards will be presented.
