    Aug. 17, 2022 – This year, the Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference (WSSFC) offers you the flexibility to attend in person or virtually – or both.

    Whether you attend in person or online, WSSFC is designed to help you with your practice, managing your office, and in your work-life balance.

    It’s your choice:

    • Prefer in-person events? Choose to attend the live event at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

    • Want to attend virtually? You’ll get access to all CLE sessions on Nov. 14-16, 2022. This option offers the flexibility of viewing the content from the location of your choosing.

    Attend either dates and earn up to 16.5 overall credit hours from six plenaries and your choice of 32 breakout sessions.

    Plus, those who attend the live WSSFC can earn more CLE by watching select complimentary webcast replays in December.

    “After two years of having to pivot at the last minute to back-up plans and virtual conferences, we are so very excited to be back in person for this year’s WSSFC,” said Brent Hoeft of Hoeft Law, and chair of the conference committee. “For those who don’t wish to physically attend a large in-person event, we are also offering a virtual option of the conference.”

    “Everyone on this year’s Planning Committee and at the State Bar of Wisconsin is looking forward to seeing all the attendees back in person at the Kalahari – and online in November,” said Hoeft.

    What WSSFC Offers Solo and Small-firm Lawyers

    As a solo or small firm practitioner, you serve your clients – but you may also be a marketing director, accountant, office manager, human resources, head of IT, or “all of the above.”

    “This conference is all about relationships, networking, and learning alongside fellow solo and small firm attorneys,” Hoeft said.

    Whether you need guidance on the latest technology, business development strategies, or marketing trends, the sessions at WSSFC offer you the opportunity to find the help you need.

    At WSSFC, you can:

    • earn up to 16.5 credit hours of CLE, EPR (ethics or professional responsibility), LPM (law practice management), and LAU (lawyers’ awareness and understanding) credits;

    • choose from 32 CLE sessions in four tracks: Substantive Law, Practice Management, Technology, and Quality of Life/Ethics;

    • attend six plenaries, including: Running a Lean Law Firm; Under Oath: Views from the Bench; The State of Student Loans: Repayment Options, Pay Offs, & Collection Defenses; and Bad Lawyers of Hollywood: An Ethics Program;

    • take advantage of opportunities to connect with other solo and small-firm attorneys;

    • connect with exhibitors during the live WSSFC at the Legal Expo, where they will share the latest legal products and services that can elevate your productivity and your practice – and fill out your Passport to Prizes. At the virtual WSSFC, you can access exhibitor's resources and information via the online platform.

    WSSFC offers you the opportunity to relax and enjoy yourself at the live program in October with special events like the Conference Kick-off Luncheon, the Attendee Reception on Thursday, and the Dine-arounds.

    And don’t miss the Lederer Award Presentation, during the Networking Lunch on Thursday at the live WSSFC and at the virtual WSSFC via a recorded presentation. Named in memory of attorney John Lederer, the award is presented annually to an individual, group, or organization exemplifying John’s leadership, spirit, and dedication.
