Coming soon - CLE Books publishes new resource on wages and hours
The State Bar is pleased to announce the planned release of the new
Wisconsin Wages and Hours Handbook. This information-packed
volume will prove to be a valuable addition to the shelf of every
employment law attorney, HR professional, and employer, and anyone who
needs to be informed on this critical aspect of the employment
relationship.
The Wisconsin Wages and Hours Handbook, by Attorney Daniel
T. Dennehy, is adapted from a chapter in the popular CLE Books treatise,
Wisconsin Employment Law. In his new book, Dennehy offers the
expertise his readers have trusted for years, now presented as part of
an expanded comprehensive discussion of the state and federal laws that
govern the compensation of workers, from minors starting their first
jobs, to employees earning six-figure incomes.
Topics include compensable work hours, calculating overtime, exempt
vs. nonexempt status for overtime, minimum-wage requirements,
permissible and impermissible payroll deductions, recourse for employees
who are not paid properly or timely, work and hour restrictions for
minors, special rules for migrant and seasonal workers, and more.
New federal overtime regulations went into effect in 2004.
Wisconsin Wages and Hours Handbook contains a detailed, current
discussion of those regulatory changes and their impact on Wisconsin's
wages and hours laws.
In addition to providing detailed analysis, the handbook
offers statutes at your fingertips. The book's appendices contain
the official text of the most relevant and often-cited Wisconsin wages
and hours statutes and regulations; and a handy reference list points
readers to the relevant federal laws.
A comprehensive table of contents, individual chapter tables of
contents, and a detailed index make finding specific topics a breeze in
this well-organized resource.
The handbook costs $35, plus tax, shipping, and handling.
Orders will be sent in early March. Buyers who subscribe to the Bar's
automatic supplementation service will receive future editions and
supplements at 10 percent off the regular price.
