Attend the Third Annual Commercial Real Estate Law Seminar on

The morning session begins with in-depth presentations on zoning,
variances, and boundary agreements and concludes with updates on the
adoption of new forms by the American Land Title Association, the
coverage offered by the leasehold endorsement, and issues arising out of
the proposed new lender's policy.
The afternoon session covers several topics key to real estate
attorneys, including section 1031 exchanges, commercial condominiums,
bankruptcies in the context of commercial real estate, and an
environmental law update.

The 2005 Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Training: Funding, Ethics, and
Advocacy for Adults seminar on June 10 in Madison is designed for
GALs representing adults with dementia, mental illness, or developmental
disabilities. Training includes a presentation on securing the least
restrictive environment for the ward, approaches for reconciling the
legal and medical perspectives on incompetence, an overview of the law
of adult guardianships and protective placements, and discussions on
obtaining GAL appointments and securing independent evaluations. The
program concludes with a panel discussion on the common ethical problems
faced by GALs. These include identifying the client, determining what is
in the individual's best interest, and providing competent
representation within the context of guardianships and protective
placements.
