May 15, 2009 – Susan Tyndall, chair of the State Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, discusses the future of appellate practice with David Stras, associate professor of law at the University of Minnesota Law School. Stras, a radio and TV commentator, moderated a panel discussion May 7 at the State Bar Annual Convention. In Part 1 of this video interview, Stras shares his thoughts about the role of technology in the future of appellate practice, including hyperlinking, videoconferencing, and video oral arguments. In Part 2, he discusses the impact of citation of unpublished opinions and the role of mediation at the appellate level.
