April 27, 2012 – Patrick J. Fiedler, Axley Brynelson LLP, Madison, won the race for State Bar president-elect, defeating William F. White, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Madison, 3,767 votes to 1,532. His term begins July 1 when Kevin Klein, Phillips, succeeds James M. Brennan, Milwaukee, as State Bar president.

In other State Bar races, Jennifer Ann Stuber, Hogan & Melms LLP, Rhinelander, was elected to a two-year term as secretary, defeating Marcia Y. Lucas, Northern Trust Co., Chicago, 3,470 votes to 1,338.
Thomas W. Bertz, Anderson, O’Brien, Bertz, Skrenes & Golla, Stevens Point, defeated Christine Rew Barden, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C., Madison, and Nicholas J. Vivian, Eckberg, Lammers, Briggs, Wolff & Vierling PLLP, Hudson, for a three-year seat on the Judicial Council. Bertz received 2,217 votes, Rew Barden received 1,405, and Vivian 1,199.

Division Elections
President-elect of the Senior Lawyers Division is David J. MacDougall, Delavan. New directors, serving two-year terms, include: the Hon. Angela Bartell, Bartell Dispute Services, Middleton; James C. Reiher, The Schroeder Group S.C., Attorneys at Law, Milwaukee. John F. Wilcox, John F Wilcox Law Office, Eau Claire was elected to a one-year term.
The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) elected Amanda K. Ashley, Todd C. Esser & Associates, Milwaukee, president-elect, defeating David R. Armstrong, Indian Law Office of Wisconsin Judicare Inc., Wausau, 445 votes to 340 votes.
The YLD held its Board of Director elections on March 30 during the Annual Young Lawyers Division Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting. New directors, serving two-year terms, include: Ryan Blay, Lakelaw, Kenosha; Crystal A. Banse, Wisconsin Department of Justice, Madison; and Brandon Evans, Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Chilman & Greenlee PC, Marquette, Mich.; Marc Adesso, DeVos & Zerbst S.C., Madison, and Amanda Ashley, Milwaukee, were re-elected. Because Ashley was elected to the position of President-elect; Danielle Kranz, Indianhead Community Action Agency Inc., Medford, will become the fifth elected member to the board. She was the next highest vote getter.
The Nonresident Lawyers Division (NRLD) elected Anthony J. Gray, Hartford, Conn., president-elect, defeating David P. Leibowitz, Waukegan, Ill., and David M. Werwie, Saint Paul, Minn. Gray received 155 votes, Werwie 133 and Leibowitz 64.
Elected to two-year terms on the NRLD Board of Directors were: Kimberly Briggs, Carmel, Calif, 152 votes; Anthony Gray, Hartford, Conn., 109 votes; Megan Hummel, Las Vegas, 114 votes; David Werwie, St. Paul, Minn., 105 votes; and H. Charles Stahmer, Bozeman, Mont., 100 votes. Because Anthony Gray was elected to the position of President-elect; David Leibowitz will become the fifth elected member to the board. He was the sixth highest vote getter with 85 votes.
The Government Lawyers Division elected Angelina Gabriele, Kenosha County District Attorney's Office, Kenosha; Anne M. Jaspers, State Public Defenders Office, Milwaukee; and Jeffry J. Patzke, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Appleton, to two-year terms on the Board of Directors
All terms begin July 1.
