The Young Lawyers Leadership Conference (YLLC), scheduled March 12th in Milwaukee, is designed to train young lawyers to be better leaders in both the profession and in their communities. The conference is hosted by the State Bar of Wisconsin Young Lawyers Division (YLD). The goal is give young lawyers the knowledge, skills and motivation they need to become active members in the State Bar, their local bar association, and other groups that promote public service.
The YLLC is divided into two main events. First, participants will attend an interactive training session to better develop their leadership skills and their understanding of the ways they can use their skills to contribute to the profession and to serve the public. Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser, Jr., will be giving the Keynote Address.
The second portion will be the Networking Reception where young lawyers will join with current and past leaders of the State Bar, the YLD and, members of the judiciary. This will provide an excellent opportunity for young lawyers to meet and network with these leaders as well as with their young lawyer colleagues from across the state.
For those in Milwaukee, Saturday morning, the YLD Board will be hosting a leadership breakfast and then conducting its Board Meeting. All YLLC attendees are welcome to attend the open Board Meeting, though space for the breakfast will be limited so remember to sign up early. The Milwaukee St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 13th beginning at noon and starting in front of the Best Western Inn Towne Hotel, 710 N. 5:30 pm – 8:30pm Networking Reception – Join the YLD at the Milwaukee Alehouse for an evening of appetizers, drinks, and great networking opportunities. Current and past leaders of the State Bar and members of the Judiciary will join the YLD in welcoming the young lawyer participants. This will be an ideal time for young lawyers to network with their fellow young lawyer leaders and with other respected leaders in the State Bar and the Judiciary.
