    Judicial Council Criminal Procedure Subcommittee Seeks Input on Preliminary Hearings

    May 28, 2014  The Judicial Council Criminal Procedure Subcommittee continues its work on crafting revisions to 2013 AB 383. The subcommittee has developed an ambitious work plan for the summer months. They have already met several times since the Legislature adjourned.

    The topic of the next scheduled meeting of the subcommittee is preliminary hearings, which will occur on June 17 in Room 412-East of the State Capitol. The subcommittee will begin at 9 a.m. and will receive testimony from those wishing to appear in person or submit written comments.

    Then on July 15, also starting at 9 a.m., the subcommittee will receive testimony and discuss the issue of discovery in criminal cases. The location of this meeting has not yet been announced.
