    Gov. Walker Seeks Applications for Circuit Court, Appeals Court Judicial Vacancies  

    May 14, 2014 – Governor Scott Walker is seeking applicants for judicial appointments to the District III Appeals Court and the Jackson County Circuit Court.

    The appeals court appointee will replace outgoing appeals court Judge Mark Mangerson, whose resignation is effective July 31, 2014. The appointee, should he or she choose to run, would be up for election in April 2016.

    The Jackson County Circuit Court appointee will replace outgoing Judge Thomas Lister, whose resignation is effective Aug. 1, 2014. The new appointee, should he or she choose to run, would be up for election in April 2015.

    To apply for either position, applicants should submit a judicial application, found on Gov. Walker’s website at www.walker.wi.gov (select the “judicial application” button, after clicking “apply to serve” at the right-hand side of the page), together with:

      • a cover letter;

      • a resume (not exceeding two pages);

      • two writing samples; and

      • a list of three to four references.

    Application materials should be submitted via email to: govjudicialappointments@wisconsin.gov.

    Completed application materials for the Jackson County Circuit Court vacancy must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2014.

    Completed application materials for the District III Court of Appeals vacancy must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
