Madison, WI – On Wednesday, June 25 at 4:45 p.m., Attorney Robert R. Gagan of Green Bay will be sworn in as State Bar of Wisconsin president in conjunction with the State Bar’s Annual Meeting & Conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva. Gagan will serve a one-year term beginning July 1, 2014. He will succeed Patrick J. Fiedler of Madison.

Gagan is a partner at Calewarts, Duffy & Gagan in Green Bay. Gagan served as a special prosecutor in the Brown County District Attorney's Office in 2011 and 2012. Prior to law school, Gagan served as a bank examiner for the Federal Reserve Banks of Cleveland and Minneapolis. Gagan is a graduate of Marquette University Law School. He earned an MBA from the UW Milwaukee, and a BBA (majoring in Finance and Marketing) from UW Madison. Gagan is a very active member of his community: he co-founded the Brown County Free Legal Clinic, where volunteer attorneys answer legal questions from members of the Latino community.
“As president, my job is to implement the historic mission of our 136-year-old organization,” said Gagan. “We will work together to help young lawyers start their careers and succeed. We will promote diversity and encourage our next generation of new leaders. We will make an impact on public policy and help strengthen the reputation of the courts. We will also strongly encourage volunteerism and leadership in our communities.”
