Nov. 25, 2020 – Before we celebrate Thanksgiving in our own unique ways, we want to thank you, State Bar members, for what you have done for your communities and the legal profession in a year dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Working with the Wisconsin Court System, together, we overcame tremendous obstacles to keep the legal and judicial system operational. Through your pro bono work, you represent low-income Wisconsinites facing evictions, foreclosures, job and employment benefits loss, domestic abuse, and other legal challenges.
Not only do you help people in remarkable ways, you are helping businesses and organizations survive during this unprecedented time in in our history.
We are thankful to many of you who are stepping up for racial justice in your communities and for diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. On top of all this, many of you volunteer your time with the State Bar, working together to support each other in a time of great need.
In short, because of you, we have much to be thankful for – and much to look forward to in the year ahead.
Regardless of how you mark and celebrate this time of year, best wishes to you and your loved ones for good health and cheer. May the season be a time to recharge and reflect as we look to put the year in perspective.
