WisBar takes top honors in web site competition
Mar. 19, 1999
For the third straight year, WisBar has been named the nation's top
Bar Association site in Legal.Online's "Best of Web" competition.
Begun in 1996 , the annual "Best of Web" competition honors
outstanding legal and law-related web sites in a variety of categories.
A four judge panel of legal professionals base their decisions on
consideration of three criteria: design, content and usefulness to
lawyers.
According to the reviewers:
"WisBar, the Web site of the State Bar of Wisconsin, is everything a
bar association site should be -- innovative, informative, and rich in
practical features, all in a well-designed and easy to navigate package.
It features a library of essential legal resources that includes the
full text of Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals decisions,
local court rules and downloadable legal forms. It also offers online
CLE courses, with a selection of audio seminars using RealAudio
technology. Need to find a lawyer in Wisconsin? WisBar has fully
searchable directory. An assortment of online discussion groups allows
lawyers to chat with one another about topics ranging from verdicts to
voice dictation. A search engine allows key word searching of the entire
site. All in all, a truly useful resource for legal professionals. "
The State Bar of California and the Chicago Bar Association received
honorable mentions in the Best State/Local Bar Association Site
category.
