The 2020 Judicial Achievement Awards nomination search is underway. The Jurist Award Subcommittee of the Bench and Bar Committee is seeking nominations for the Judge of the Year and the Lifetime Jurist Achievement Awards.
The Judge of the Year Award honors an outstanding circuit court judge who exhibits judicial independence and excellence. We are looking for a judge who has exceeded the call of judicial office, is actively involved in community efforts that enhance the judicial system, and has made significant recent contributions in advancing the quality of justice, judicial education, technology, or innovative programs.
The Lifetime Jurist Achievement Award honors a judge who currently serves or has served as a circuit court judge and has exhibited outstanding, long-term excellence as a judge. The judge must have demonstrated high ideals, exemplary personal character, judicial competence, and community involvement, and must have affected the judicial system in a distinctive manner.
Eligibility requirements and nomination forms may be found by clicking the links provided above, or at https://www.wisbar.org/juristaward.
Nominees may not be Supreme Court Justices, current members of the Bench and Bar Committee, or actively campaigning for an elected office other than one they currently hold. Nominations should be supported by letters of recommendation and accompanying materials. Send email to lroys@wisbar.org, and postal mail to:
