Steven Means, Iowa 1987 with high distinction, has joined the U.W. Medical Foundation as vice president of legal services and compliance and general counsel. He is the former executive assistant attorney general in the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

DeWitt Ross & Stevens has expanded into the Minneapolis region. The firm will be known as DeWitt Mackall, Crounse & Moore S.C., an affiliate of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, and is located at 1400 AT&T Tower, 901 Marquette Ave., Minneapolis.
Michael Best & Friedrich LLP has acquired the Vantus Law Group in Salt Lake City, effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Alexandria L. Morey, U.W. 2013, has opened Morey Law Office LLC, 8383 Greenway Blvd., # 600, Middleton, focusing on civil litigation and trademark law. Morey also is in-house counsel for Fiskars Brands Inc.
Appointments, Elections
Sherry D. Coley, Marquette 2003, has been elected chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin Board of Governors. Coley is with the Green Bay office of Godfrey & Kahn S.C. in the litigation practice group.
Amy T. Collins, U.W. 2012, has been named to the Order of the Coif. She is with the Madison office of Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, focusing on family law and estate planning.
Gwendolyn J. Cooley, Marquette 2004, has been appointed vice chair of the ABA Antitrust Section’s State Enforcement Committee. She is the assistant attorney general for antitrust with the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Lindsey D. Draper, Marquette 1975, Wisconsin Department of Justice-Crime Victim Services, Madison, has been appointed chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Client Protection. He is a past chair of the Wisconsin Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, on which he is currently serving his third five-year term as a member.
Saul Glazer, U.W. 1990, has been appointed to the board of Independent Living Inc., Madison. He is with Axley Brynelson LLP, Madison.
CJ Szafir, Marquette 2011, has been named to the board of HOPE Christian Schools, Milwaukee. He is associate counsel at the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, Milwaukee.

Pro Bono, Public Service
Several Dane County law firms and their employees contributed to United Way of Dane County’s Partners for Change campaign in fall 2013, resulting in pledges of almost $300,000 and an increase of more than 30 percent in the number of individual donors. Partners for Change award winners include Whyte Hirschboeck & Dudek; Michael Best & Friedrich; Perkins Coie; DeWitt, Ross & Stevens; and Foley & Lardner.
