• Wisconsin Green
Building Alliance (WGBA)
The WGBA advocates and promotes the use of ecologically sustainable
materials and practices in Wisconsin's community of developers and
conducts seminars, educational forums, and worksite visits.
• Green Built
Home
Green Built Home is a voluntary green building initiative that
reviews and certifies new homes and remodeling projects that meet
sustainable building and energy standards. The program is implemented in
partnership with the Madison Area Builders Association.
• Energy Center of
Wisconsin
The Energy Center provides technical support to those interested in
pursuing green building projects. The center's LEED-certified
professionals provide design assistance and educational outreach to
architects, developers, engineers, and building contractors to create
highly energy-efficient buildings.
• Greendrinks
Greendrinks sponsors monthly networking meetings in Madison,
Milwaukee, and Green Bay for anyone interested in green building.
• Leonardo
Academy
Based in Madison, the nonprofit academy and its staff have, among
other things, played a significant role in developing LEED certification
standards. The academy's LEED-certified staff perform a range of LEED
consulting services.
National
• United States Green
Building Council (USGBC)
The USGBC is an 8,000-member nonprofit corporation founded in 1993
that promotes environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy
buildings. The USGBC developed the widely accepted LEED green building
certification standards.
• National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
The NAHB has developed green home standards and offers training,
sample legislation, and other green building materials on its Web
site.
• Greenbiz
GreenBiz and companion site www.greenerbuildings.com
provides news, resources, workshops, daily news feeds, and briefing
papers on aligning environmental responsibility with business success,
including green building.
• U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The EPA's green building Web site provides information relating to
the intersection of green building and environmental law and policy.
