The Wisconsin Court Interpreters Handbook (1986-87): A Guide for
Judges, Lawyers, Interpreters and Citizens explains the practical
logistics of how, when and where to request interpreters. The 20-page
pamphlet is available from the court administrators in the 10 judicial
administrative district offices (see the 1997 Wisconsin Lawyer
Directory, page 466).
The court administrators also keep a list of the interpreters
frequently used in their areas. The Director of State Court's Office is

On Sept. 24-26, Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Richard S. Brown and
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Elsa C. Lamelas will moderate a
breakout session during the Annual Judicial Conference to discuss issues
surrounding language interpreting, the deaf and the hearing
impaired.
