New Hires, Promotions, Partners

Gabrielle Baumann Adams, U.W. 2008, has joined the litigation practice group in the Milwaukee office of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. and practices with the business and commercial litigation team. She previously was a law clerk for a federal district court judge and also was a Milwaukee County assistant district attorney.

Stephanie Hanold Anacker, Marquette 2005, has joined Hofbauer Law LLC, Delafield, as an associate and focuses on civil litigation.

Joel B. Bardsley, Iowa 2002, has been named a member of Solheim Billing & Grimmer S.C., Madison, and continues to focus on corporate and finance law.

Patrick Cannon, Gonzaga 2010, has joined MediRevv Inc., Coralville, Iowa, as revenue integrity manager and general counsel.

Andrea F. Cataldo, Marquette 2007 cum laude, has joined the corporate practice group in the Milwaukee office of Godfrey & Kahn S.C. and focuses in mergers, acquisitions, and general corporate matters. She previously was with Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C.

Victoria L. Davis, Marquette 2011, has joined Pledl & Cohn S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses on disability law, including special education, guardianship, and disability services for children and adults.

Tara R. Devine, Marquette 2003, has been promoted to partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Chicago, and focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice cases.

Lee R. Ferderer, U.W. 1995, has been named chief executive officer of the Fiore Companies, Madison, a real estate investment company.

Bryant E. Ferguson, Marquette 2010 magna cum laude, has joined the Milwaukee office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. as an associate in the employee benefits practice area.

Shelly Fox, Michigan 2000, has joined the Wisconsin Court System Office of Court Operations and manages the Effective Justice Strategies Program.

Jeff Goldman, U.W. 2002 cum laude, has been promoted to partner at DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., Madison, and continues to practice with the trusts and estates and litigation practice groups.

Allen J. Irgens, New York 2011, has joined Carney, Davies & Thorpe LLC, Janesville, as an associate and focuses on civil litigation and family law.

Daniel Finerty, Marquette 1998, and Melissa Stone, Marquette 2007, have joined Lindner & Marsack S.C., Milwaukee. Finerty focuses on labor and employment litigation, compliance, and counseling matters. Stone focuses on defense of worker’s compensation claims for insurers and self-insured employers.

Alexis K. Lundgren, Minnesota 2011, has joined the Milwaukee office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP as an associate in the litigation practice group.

Sarah F. Novak, Marquette 2006, has joined Honsa & Associates P.A., Minneapolis, as an associate and practices exclusively in family law.

James C. (Jake) Remington, U.W. 2012, has joined Murphy Desmond S.C., Madison, in the litigation practice group. He previously was a defense attorney in Milwaukee.

William A. Rinehart II, U.W. 2005 cum laude, has joined Rinehart, Scaffidi & Mathews, Milwaukee, as a partner and focuses on creditor’s rights, commercial and consumer collection, and civil litigation. He previously was with Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c.

Aaron P. Frederickson, William Mitchell 2002, has formed MSP Compliance Solutions LLC, P.O. Box 491, Circle Pines, Minn., and focuses on Medicare secondary payer and MMSEA/section 111 reporting compliance issues.

Robert P. Goldstein, New York Univ. 1969, has opened the Law Office and Center for Nonprofit Excellence, 759 N. Milwaukee St., Suite 400, Milwaukee, and focuses on providing services to nonprofit organizations. He previously was with the Warshafsky Law Firm.

Grzeca Law Group S.C., which practices exclusively in immigration law, has opened a third office, located at 314 S. Madison St., Green Bay.

Kevin Martin, Marquette 2003, has opened Martin Law Office SC, 7071 S. 13th St., Suite 208, Oak Creek, and focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury, general liability, professional liability, and products liability cases. He previously was with Cannon & Dunphy S.C.

Mollie A. Newcomb, Marquette 2001, has opened the Law Office of Mollie Newcomb LLC, Milwaukee, focusing on intellectual property law. She previously was with Boyle Fredrickson SC, Milwaukee.

Quarles & Brady LLP has opened a new office, in Washington, D.C., focusing on the franchise and distribution industry.

Appointments, Elections

Two attorneys are among the newly elected board members of the ACLU of Wisconsin. Jay Kronenwetter, U.W. 2005, operates Kronenwetter Law Firm, Wausau, and practices in areas including criminal defense, political election law, and litigation. Nilesh Patel, U.W. 2002, operates Mahadev Law Group LLC, Madison, and focuses in employment law.

John Robert Behling, U.W. 2000, has been appointed to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents by Gov. Scott Walker. He is a partner with Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci S.C., Eau Claire.

Gregg Herman, U.W. 1977, has been named to a three-year term as the Wisconsin representative on the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers board. He practices at Loeb & Herman S.C., Milwaukee, which practices exclusively family law.

David Minko, William and Mary 2003, has been appointed to the District 9 Committee of the Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulation. He is a partner at Melli Law S.C., Madison.

Billie Jean Smith, U.W. 1992, has been appointed to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee board. She is chair of the intellectual property practice group at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

Gov. Scott Walker has appointed the Hon. Mark A. Mangerson, Valparaiso 1972, to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Mangerson previously was on the Oneida County Circuit Court. Gov. Walker also appointed the following attorneys to circuit court seats: Jennifer R. Dorow, Regent 1996, Waukesha County Circuit Court; James A. Morrison, Minnesota 1973, Marinette County Circuit Court; and John P. Zakowski, U.W. 1983, Brown County Circuit Court.

Retired Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Thomas R. Cooper, Marquette 1973, received the St. Andrew’s Society of Milwaukee Founders Award in January.

Kristine Havlik, Virginia 1999, has been named a 2012 Women Putting Their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee honoree for her volunteer work, including helping to start Wisconsin’s Wills for Heroes program. She is senior counsel at Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee.

Robert Procter, Boston Univ. 1999, was named Associate of the Year by the Wisconsin Builders Association for contributions including authoring of the WBA Home Construction and Remodeling Contracts and spending hundreds of hours answering member inquiries on the WBA legal hotline. He is with Axley Brynelson LLP, Madison.

Pro Bono, Public Service

Michael Hupy, Marquette 1972, has made a substantial pledge to the Milwaukee Justice Center, which provides legal services to low-income individuals and families. He is with Hupy and Abraham S.C., Milwaukee.

Collectively known as “Monty Python’s Flying Circuits,” circuit court judges Jeffery L. Anderson, Oklahoma City Univ. 1998, Polk County, James D. Babbit, U.W. 1980, Barron County, Craig R.
