New Hires, Promotions, Partners
Jennifer R. Augustin, William Mitchell 2010, has joined Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak & Pikala P.A., Minneapolis, and devotes her practice to worker’s compensation claims in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Augustin works closely with employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to navigate the many nuances of the claims they face. Previously, she worked on the employee side of claims.
Randy Enochs, U.W. 2007, has joined Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., as a labor and employment counsel. Enochs previously worked as labor and employment counsel at a tier 1 auto supplier, Magna International Inc.
Lindsey Canonie Grady, Marquette 2000, has joined the Fiduciary Litigation team at Quarles & Brady LLP, Milwaukee, as of counsel. Grady is part of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group and works with the Estate, Trust & Wealth Preservation Practice Group, advising clients on issues related to probate, guardianships and conservatorships, and trusts and estates, including petitions to the probate court, preparation of nonjudicial settlement agreements, high-value probate administrations, special administrations, disputes arising from guardian and fiduciary actions, and adult adoption. Grady previously was a Milwaukee County circuit court judge and before that was Milwaukee County’s deputy register in probate and acting judicial court commissioner, worked at Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, and was a partner at a Milwaukee law firm.
Eric Schanowski, Northwestern 2018, has joined the criminal defense team at Milwaukee-based Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown LLP. Schanowski previously worked as a prosecutor at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and as an employment litigator.
Eight attorneys have joined Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. in the Milwaukee office.
Abigail (Abi) Aswege, Marquette 2023, is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice and counsels clients on various employment issues, such as non-compete agreements, equal rights, discrimination, and labor law. J.P. Curran, Marquette 2023 magna cum laude, is a corporate law attorney, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and providing customized solutions to mitigate risk and help clients achieve the best possible outcomes.
Mary Margaret Evans, U.W. 2023 magna cum laude, is a member of the Litigation Practice, representing clients in a wide range of civil matters. She is a mentor for the Reinhart Bridges Advisory Program, which promotes equitable access to opportunities for growth and development among candidates from diverse backgrounds. Joseph Franke, Marquette 2023 magna cum laude, is a member of the Real Estate Practice, advising clients on matters related to their real estate and business goals. Josh LeNoble, Marquette 2022, is a member of the Trusts and Estates Practice, focusing on designing estate plans for high-net-worth individuals and families. LeNoble previously was a tax attorney at a boutique firm and a litigation associate at an Am Law 200 firm.

Autumn Ruleau, U.W. 2023 magna cum laude, is a member of the Health Care Practice and advises clients on all aspects of health care law, including licensing, regulatory, and compliance issues. Peter Soukenik, Chicago-Kent 2023 cum laude, is a member of the Corporate Law Practice, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law matters.

Erin N. Novak, Marquette 2023, is an associate in the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group and focuses on litigation and toxic tort issues. Erica A. Storm, U.W. 2002 cum laude, is a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Section focusing on employment law and employee benefits law and compliance. Michael J. Wirth, Marquette 1999, is a shareholder in the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group and focuses on professional liability, insurance coverage litigation, and appellate representation.
Sam Wayne, U.W. 2009, has reopened Wayne Law S.C. after two and a half years at another Madison firm. Wayne accepts referrals and co-counsel arrangements for difficult commercial, probate, and legal malpractice disputes. He also mediates business disputes and handles select commercial litigation on contingency, paying appropriate, ethical referral fees.
Awards, Degrees, Honors
Bill O’Connor, U.W. 1979, has received the 2023 Harold “Bud” Jordahl Lifetime Achievement Award from Gathering Waters: Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts. Gathering Waters gives this award to individuals who have devoted their time, talents, and energy to support land conservation throughout their lives and, as such, have helped permanently safeguard Wisconsin’s natural treasures.
O’Connor has been a key player in Wisconsin’s land trust movement for over 40 years and has founded two conservation nonprofits, Groundswell Conservancy and Gathering Waters Conservancy (now known as Gathering Waters: Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts). O’Connor practices with Boardman Clark, Madison, focusing on water law, conservation, land use, local government, and nonprofit organization matters.
Pro Bono, Public Service
Tabak Law, Glendale, has donated $100,000 to the Center for Veterans Issues (CVI), a nonprofit organization that assists military veterans. The Tabak team has been providing legal assistance to veterans in the Milwaukee area and nationwide for over a decade. CVI provides housing and supportive services to help improve the quality of life for veterans, their families, and the communities in which they live and serve.
