As the saying goes, if you haven’t been to the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Annual Meeting & Conference (AMC) lately, you haven’t been to the conference!

Larry J. MartinLarry J. Martin is the executive director for the State Bar of Wisconsin.

In partnership with the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Director of State Courts, and the Judicial Education Committee, this year’s AMC will be the largest State Bar gathering of the legal profession and the judiciary in one place at one time. This will be the opportunity to meet your colleagues, as well as judges from the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and circuit and municipal courts from across Wisconsin.

This June’s gathering will be held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison. It will be your chance to see and hear nationally renowned speakers, choose from more than 20 CLE sessions to enhance your practice, and connect with colleagues from across the state and the nation.

New this year is a two-session judicial track developed by judges and designed for business and commercial litigators. Seven judges will provide insights on pretrial strategies and courtroom best practices, business torts and the economic loss doctrine, and the intricacies of receiverships and Wisconsin’s unique commercial laws.

All educational sessions offered at the AMC qualify for judicial education credits and continuing legal education credits.

In addition, our opening and closing plenaries are not to be missed! Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul will open the conference by providing timely updates on key U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Our closing plenary will be a powerhouse panel that includes former Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Patience Roggensack, retired Dane County Circuit Court Judge Shelley Gaylord, Northwestern Law School Professor James Speta, and moderator James Goldschmidt of Quarles & Brady LLP as they examine Tetra Tech, Loper Bright, and the evolving landscape of judicial review of agency decisions.

Finally, the Wisconsin Association of Legal Administrators will host its annual continuing education conference in conjunction with the AMC. The conference is also an excellent opportunity for paralegals to participate.

Don’t miss out! Join your judicial and legal professional colleagues for a chance to connect, learn, and relax as we come together in Wisconsin’s capital city.
