    Diane L. Houk, Columbia 1983, has been named director of the Fair Housing Justice Center, a national civil rights advocacy organization sponsored by New York-based HELP USA, which provides transitional housing, counseling, and job training for homeless families and domestic violence victims. She previously was special litigation counsel with the housing and civil enforcement section of the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Washington, D.C.

    The attorneys and staff of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C., Milwaukee, recently completed a drive to collect toiletry items for the Milwaukee Women's Center. The firm organizes collections for several charitable organizations each year.

    The Schroeder Group S.C., Attorneys at Law and Slattery & Duffey Ltd. presented the $500 Liberty in Law Award scholarship to high school student Elizabeth Kallenberger. The Waukesha firms sponsor the local competition, which requires entrants to write an essay about things lawyers do to protect and promote American freedom.
