Chamberlain
|
Hon. William A. Bablitch, U.W. 1968, has joined the
Madison office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP in the litigation and
government and public policy groups, concentrating on appellate
practice, government and public policy, and alternative dispute
resolution. He retired from the Wisconsin Supreme Court on July 31.
Jennifer A. Chamberlain, Franklin Pierce Law Center
2002, has joined Czachor & Polack LLP as an associate, concentrating
in family law, personal injury, and civil litigation. She practices in
the firm's Green Bay and Oconto offices.
Michael P. Cotter, Marquette 1998, has been
appointed director of the Walworth County Land Use and Resource
Management Department. He previously was an assistant corporation
counsel for Walworth County, focusing on land use matters. He continues
to serve as municipal judge for the village of East Troy.
Laurence J. Dupuis, N.Y.U. 1996 magna cum laude, has
joined the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin Foundation as
legal director, providing direct representation in civil liberties and
civil rights matters and coordinating volunteer lawyers. He previously
was a staff attorney at Legal Action of Wisconsin's Milwaukee
office.
Shannon B. Farrell, U.W. 1995 cum laude, has become
a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, serving as
vice consul at the U.S. Embassy, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She previously
was an associate in the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner.

Steven A. Heinzen, U.W. 1998 cum laude, has joined

Hon. Shirley S. Abrahamson, Indiana
University-Bloomington 1956, has been chosen president-elect of the
national Conference of Chief Justices, which represents the top judicial

Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Richard J. Podell, U.W. 1969, was elected as a
delegate-at-large to the ABA House of Delegates and to the governing
council of the ABA Individual Rights and Responsibilities Section. He
also received an award for outstanding service from the ABA Family Law
Section.
Hon. Patience Drake Roggensack, U.W. 1980, was sworn
in to the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Sept. 12. She previously was a
judge on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and is the first judge in that
court's 25-year history to serve on the supreme court. Roggensack was
elected in April to a 10-year term.

Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker to the Lakefront Task Force,
which will draft standards and criteria for development on Milwaukee's
Lake Michigan shoreline. She is a shareholder at Cook & Franke S.C.,

The Winnebago County Bar Association has elected the following

Col. Paul E. Conrad, U.W. 1981, authored "Are You
Ready for Mobilization? Advice for Reservist Attorneys in Private
Practice," Dialogue (Summer 2003), published by the ABA Legal

Pro Bono Public Service

Anniversary of Harley Davidson to New York City firefighters, also
