This position may be eligible to work remotely up to 40% as part of a hybrid schedule, following an initial 100% in-person training period. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement.
High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.

Minimally qualified applicants must have education, training and/or experience in the following:
- Experience or coursework in criminal law
- Conducting in-depth legal research
- Analyzing statutes and case law
- Writing or drafting briefs or judicial decisions
In addition to the minimum qualifications, a well-qualified applicant will have education, training, and/or experience in the following:
- Writing appellate briefs or arguing before an appellate court
- Working in a clerkship or for a court at the appellate or federal level
- Representing the state as a party or serving as counsel for a government agency, official, or employee as the client
Special Qualification: Candidate must be a member in good standing with the Wisconsin State Bar upon appointment.
