Platform Statement
As an experienced trial lawyer with statewide experience, I ask for your vote as your State Bar representative to the Judicial Council.
While at first blush this may seem like one of the more obscure State Bar positions, for nearly 70 years, the Wisconsin Judicial Council has vetted and recommended changes to our rules of practice and procedure. I have significant litigation experience in state and federal courts across our state and in several other jurisdictions, which I believe provides me with valuable insights to offer on how to make the practice of law more efficient for the courts, lawyers and all clients.
Over the past year, we have been forced to make fundamental changes to how we practice law. However, as we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are important lessons to be learned from how our court system operated. I believe that some adaptations that we have been forced to make may very well stand the test of time. I believe that the Judicial Council ought to evaluate the adaptations made throughout the state during 2020 and consider making appropriate recommendations to practice and procedural rules that will allow for the most efficient and effective representation of all clients.
I respectfully ask for your support and vote as your State Bar representative to the Judicial Council. Feel free to contact me at shall@crivellocarlson.com.
