Platform Statement
I am honored to have the opportunity to run for treasurer of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Since my first involvement with the State Bar in 2007, I have valued its strategic vision and its commitment to the profession and its members.
If elected as treasurer, I would strive for the State Bar to pursue initiatives to address lawyer-specific challenges. Such challenges include: the shortage of lawyers practicing in rural Wisconsin; the ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues affecting lawyers; and the erosion of the public image of our profession and independence of our judiciary.
I have dedicated the vast majority of my professional leadership to the State Bar of Wisconsin, as outlined more fully below in my biography. Specific to this treasurer role, I previously served as treasurer for the Young Lawyer’s Division and also served on the finance committee for the State Bar. Additionally, I have served as treasurer for the Wisconsin-network of IWIRC (an insolvency association) and am currently a member of the finance committee for the international board of IWIRC.

Biography
I have spent my 16-year legal career with the law firm of Bakke Norman, S.C., located in northwestern Wisconsin. I currently serve as the firm’s co-managing shareholder.
My practice focuses primarily on representing creditors in various aspects of collections and insolvency-related issues. This work includes pursing creditor’s rights in banrktupcy, prosecuting commercial and consumer collection actions, representing receivers and creditors in Chapter 128 state receivership matters and negotiating out-of-court business reorganizations. In addition to my collections work, I have developed a diverse civil litigation practice.
