If you believe you have suffered financial loss due to the
dishonest conduct of your attorney, you should file a claim with the Wisconsin Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection. The Fund may be able to reimburse that money up to the maximum amount.
What is the Wisconsin Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection?
The Wisconsin Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection (WLFCP) was created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 1981 to provide reimbursement to clients who have incurred financial losses due to the dishonest conduct of their attorneys under
Supreme Court Rule 12.04-12.12. Applications to the Fund are reviewed by the WLFCP Committee, and those meetings occur three times each year.
