FAQs
Who is eligible to vote in State Bar of Wisconsin elections?
Active, Active New, Senior Active, Emeritus Active (Legacy), Justices, and Judicial Voting members in good standing can vote in elections for State Bar officers and Board of Governors district representatives. Inactive, Emeritus Inactive, and Judicial Non-Voting members are not eligible to vote in State Bar Elections. However, section members in good standing, regardless of their membership class, can vote in section board elections if those seats are contested.
I already voted. Why am I getting more emails on the election?
The State Bar sends reminders to all eligible voting members to ensure everyone eligible has the opportunity to vote. Since we don't manage the election process directly, we have no way of identifying those who have voted to exclude them from future email reminders. Thank you for your understanding.
What type of security can I expect with a Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS) managed online election?
Several layers of security are employed to protect SBS elections. The voting website is hosted on a secure server. Ballots are transmitted to the data center using Symantec TLS encryption and authentication technology. Voting websites also employ passive and active network and security monitoring services to detect and prevent unauthorized access. Data is stored in a secure data center with controlled, monitored access 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
When does the election close?
The 2025 State Bar of Wisconsin elections close on Friday, April 25, 2025 at noon CDT.
