Pursuant to Wis. Stat. §758.13(2), the role of Judicial Council is to “simplify procedure and promote a speedy determination of litigation” and make recommendations that will “improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the court system.” In accomplishing the duties of the Council, the perspective of a trial lawyer is essential. This is especially true in recent years, where significant changes have been advocated and debated with regard to the operation of court system and the right to trial by jury. Through my experience trying cases before juries in our civil court system I can bring the needed perspective of a trial lawyer to the important issues that are evaluated, debated and acted upon by the Judicial Council. For this reason, I humbly ask for your vote as a member of Wisconsin’s Judicial Council.
