Anne Blackbourn, U.W. 2022, has joined George Mason University’s Office of University Counsel as a law fellow. Her work focuses on legal issues in higher education related to faculty, students, research, governance, and more.
Sequoia L. Butler, U.W. 2021, has joined Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak & Pikala P.A., Minneapolis, and focuses on insurance coverage issues. Butler previously was a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Sara R. Grewing.
Jesse Dill, Marquette 2010, has been promoted to shareholder at Ogletree Deakins and practices from the Milwaukee office. Dill has a wide range of labor and employment law experience with a focus on single-plaintiff litigation, class and collective matters under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage-and-hour laws, and labor relations pursuant to the National Labor Relations Act.
Daniel K. Fabrizius, University of Richmond 2018, has joined Consigny Law Firm S.C., Janesville, as an associate and focuses on litigation and transactional matters.
Anna Fay, Marquette 2016, has joined Welcenbach Law Offices S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses on personal-injury litigation.
Several attorneys have been promoted to shareholder at Godfrey & Kahn, all with the Milwaukee office. Jay Creagh, Minnesota 2013, is cochair of the Startup and Venture Capital Practice Group and a member of the Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Private Equity Practice groups. Creagh advises clients on complex mergers and acquisitions across multiple industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, energy, health care, and financial services. Kristen Irgens, U.W. 2013, practices securities and corporate law with particular emphasis on investment company and investment adviser regulation and SEC compliance and reporting. She works on issues such as compliance matters, fund registration, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and general business matters.
David Konkel, Seattle 2013, focuses on litigation, representing clients in complex commercial disputes, including insurance trade practices, insurance-coverage and bad-faith defense, theft of proprietary information, fraudulent transfers, real estate litigation, class-action defense, securities fraud, contract actions, and business torts. Sarah McNally, U.W. 2002, focuses on the tax and federal and international aspects of complex business transactions such as private equity financings, hedge funds and other joint investment pools, acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations of corporations, like-kind exchanges, and acquisitive partnership transactions.
Danny Tang, U.W. 2012, advises clients through acquisitions and dispositions of various types of commercial property across the U.S., including real property used for manufacturing and office purposes, commercial leasing transactions, commercial real estate financing transactions, and land use and easement issues. Zach Willenbrink, Marquette 2011, helps clients navigate data privacy, intellectual property, noncompetition, trade secret, trade practices, and other complex commercial and business disputes, including appeals. He holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/US and Certified Information Privacy Manager certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is certified in cybersecurity by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium.
Bradley Hintze, Minnesota 2001, has been promoted to partner at Lathrop GPM LLP, Minneapolis. Hintze has extensive experience working with local and regional developers, lenders, landlords, and businesses in a variety of real estate transactions, including transfers and development, commercial lending, and leasing transactions.
Mark S. Kapocius, Marquette 2007, has joined von Briesen & Roper s.c., Milwaukee, as a shareholder in the Government Law Group and School Law Section. Kapocius focuses on school law and advising public-sector entities on labor and employment matters, governance issues, collective bargaining, and public records and open meetings compliance. He has extensive experience helping school districts with special education, pupil records, policy and curriculum, and educator and administrator employment issues involving recruiting, retention, contracting, discipline and nonrenewal, and compensation and benefit issues.
Michael C. Davis, U.W. 2018, and Micheal D. Hahn, U.W. 2014, have been promoted to partner at Nowlan Law LLP, Janesville. Davis focuses on corporate law, real estate law, and trust and estates law. Hahn is a trial attorney with a focus on construction, business, and regulatory matters.
Briane Pagel, U.W. 1998, has become a shareholder with Lawton & Cates S.C. Pagel has more than two decades’ experience devoted to consumer protection and has helped countless families protect their homes, cars, and bank accounts from predatory lending and collection practices.
Kristen S. Scheuerman, Marquette 2010, has joined Weiss Law Office S.C., Appleton, as a partner and focuses on personal injury and subrogation. She also acts as a mediator and serves as guardian ad litem in matters involving minor settlements.

Eckberg Lammers has opened a third office, in the Minnesota Center, 7760 France Ave. S., #830, Bloomington, Minn.
Quarles & Brady LLP has combined with Paul, Plevin, Sullivan & Connaughton LLP, a management-side labor and employment law firm in California with 30 San Diego-based attorneys. The expansion brings Quarles’ national footprint to more than 500 attorneys across 11 U.S. offices. The two firms share a strong cultural alignment, along with in-depth experience in key industry sectors, including life sciences, technology, research institutions, health care, and higher education.
Authors, Speakers
The novel Blue Lake, authored by Jeffrey D. Boldt, U.W. 1986, was published by River Grove Books in 2022 and given a starred review by Kirkus Reviews, representing a work of “exceptional literary merit.” Set in Wisconsin, Blue Lake is a genre hybrid with aspects of legal thriller, romance, and literary novels interwoven.
Howard S. Erlanger, U.W. 1981, has authored The Marital Property Classification Handbook (State Bar of Wis. 5th ed. 2023). Erlanger is Voss-Bascom Professor of Law, Emeritus, at the U.W. Law School, Madison.
Rose Ann Wasserman, U.W. 1984, authored the recently revised edition of A Guide to Wisconsin Employment Discrimination Law (State Bar of Wis. 8th ed. 2022). Wasserman is an administrative law judge with the Equal Rights Division of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Awards, Degrees, Honors
Christopher Krimmer, U.W. 1997, has achieved certification by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts as a Certified Divorce Financial Analysist (CDFA). A CDFA has specialized training in pre-divorce financial planning including tax, pension valuations, and retirement benefits. Krimmer is a managing partner of Forward Legal Services, a family law firm with locations in Madison and Sun Prairie.
John P. McConnell, Yale 1989, is a Spring 2023 Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Center for the Political Future, in Los Angeles.
Elyse Mollner Stackhouse, U.W. 1990, received a C-Suite Award, the 2022 Top Corporate Counsel Award for a private company, presented by the Milwaukee Business Journal. Stackhouse retired as general counsel of U.S. Venture Inc. in January 2023 and will focus on nonprofit service in retirement.
Lauren Raupp, Marquette 2013, received the 2022 Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer award from the Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ). Raupp is a partner at MacGillis Wiemer LLC, Wauwatosa. Since joining the firm in 2019, Raupp’s work co-counseling jury trials has directly led to several significant verdicts. Raupp has represented individuals who have been seriously injured in a wide variety of situations. She has also represented individuals who have been injured by unsafe products and individuals and families for claims arising out of nursing home abuse and neglect.
Katrina Nelson has been honored as the 2022 Paralegal of the Year by the WAJ. Nelson has been a paralegal for the last 16 years and has spent the past 13 years as a personal-injury paralegal at Fox Valley-based Herrling Clark Law Firm Ltd., handling complex litigation cases involving multiple defendants.
Kyle J. Quinn, Marquette 2007, has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Quinn practices with Grand Rapids-based McShane & Bowie and concentrates his work exclusively on family law matters, helping individuals and families with matters related to divorce, separate maintenance, property division, child and spousal support, custody, and parenting time.
Retirements
Bruce Kerr, U.W. 1972, is retired from his law practice following a career at Oracle and Sun Microsystems, where he was assistant general counsel. He continues his music and songwriting career as “Loose Bruce” Kerr.
