– Damages sought by Giannis Antetokounmpo in a lawsuit against a bed company
Milwaukee Bucks star and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has sued a bed company for selling him damaged mattresses and for misusing his name and likeness.
Antetokounmpo alleged that four beds sent to him in Greece by MAREE were badly damaged.
Antetokounmpo also alleged that the company, which claims LeBron James and Serena Williams as clients, has ignored a cease-and-desist letter he sent regarding use of his name and likeness in marketing materials.
MAREE said that the beds were intact when shipped and that Antetokounmpo gave it permission to use his name and likeness in exchange for a discount on the beds.

Goodbye to Logic Games – For Now
For many prospective law students, the bane of their LSAT prep is the exam’s analytic reasoning section, commonly referred to as logic games.
Beginning August 2024, test takers can breathe a sigh of relief. In October, the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) announced that it was removing the logic games section from the semi-annual exam.
The move came after the LSAC settled a lawsuit filed by a legally blind test taker. In the lawsuit, the test taker alleged that the LSAC’s refusal to waive the logic games section for him violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.
LSAC said the decision to remove the logic games will have almost no effect on LSAT scores.
But the logic games aren’t dead yet. As part of the settlement, LSAC promised to reevaluate the analytic reasoning section after four years.

A 75-year-old Italian woman won a court order in October ordering her two sons to move out by December 18.
The woman filed a lawsuit claiming that her sons – ages 40 and 42 and both with jobs – were living in the family’s apartment in northern Italy without contributing any money or helping with domestic chores.
In court papers, the woman referred to her sons as parasites.
The woman, who is divorced from the sons’ father, claimed that she spends her entire pension on food and other living expenses.
In the court’s ruling, the judge referred to the woman’s sons as “bamboccioni” – big babies, in English.

Have It Your Way
West Allis Mayor Dan Devine took to X (formerly Twitter) in October to announce that the city was suing Burger King over a restaurant building that has stood shuttered since 2012.
“Hey @BurgerKing,” Devine wrote in a tweet. “Since ‘I rule’ could you please help me and do something with this ‘Whopper’ of a blighted property (on 106th and Greenfield) that has been an eyesore for West Allis for several years?”
Kail Decker, the West Allis city attorney, said the land under the building used to be owned by a different party.
But Burger King now owns both the land and the building, Decker said, and should either fix the property or sell it.
